Dave Foley guest stars tonight (future guests include Denis Leary, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Scott, Jeff Garlin and others). This isn't a particularly strong debut -- Maron seems a little awkward and uncomfortable in the lead actor spot -- but that gets better in later episodes, so definitely check back next week. (In fact, next week's episode with Denis Leary is online right now if you want to check it out.)

Mockingbird Lane (8pm, NBC) - This revamp of the mid-1960s series "The Munsters" was supposed to be a new series, but it's not likely that NBC will pick it up for a series run. Instead, the pilot airing tonight is being sold as a Halloween special. It stars Jerry O'Connell as Herman, Portia De Rossi as Lilly and Grandpa is played by Eddie Izzard. The show is by Bryan Fuller, who gave us "Wonderfalls" and "Pushing Daisies," so even though I've heard bad things about it, I have to check it out for myself.

What to Watch on Friday: Series finale of "Medium"

Medium (8pm, CBS) - In the series finale, titled "Me Without You," Allison begins a new career as a lawyer and Joe lands a new job. These developments lead the couple in opposing directions and have a lasting impact on the DuBois family. Okay, first of all, I hope they jump ahead in time or that was the fastest law degree in the history of the world. Second, if they split up Allison and Joe in the finale, I'm going to be furious.

Kitchen Nightmares (8pm, Fox) - In the third season opener, Chef Gordon Ramsay visits the Spanish Pavillion in Harrison, N.J. He finds the family-owned eatery has bickering owners, undercooked food, and an outdated decor.

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - An Observer reaches out to the team to reverse a critical error, while Walter meets Roscoe Joyce (Christopher Lloyd), the keyboardist for his favorite 70s band, and discovers uncanny parallels in their lives. This is a new night for "Fringe."

Medium (9pm, CBS) - CBS execs said this week it was a close call between canceling "Ghost Whisperer" and "Medium" (we're personally glad it was "Medium" left standing), and this 6th season finale certainly sounds like it would have been a heck of an ender for fans. Tonight, Allison's brain tumor reappears, upending her world and creating life-shattering repurcussions for her family and friends.

Keep reading for more finales airing tonight...

What to Watch on Friday: "Friday Night Lights" returns to NBC

Friday Night Lights (8pm, NBC) - This "new" season of "Friday Night Lights" already ran on DirecTV, but it's making its NBC debut tonight. I beg you to watch. It's a really fantastic show, but chronically under-appreciated and under-promoted by its network. Tonight's show picks up where Season 3 left off: Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) has been fired from the Dillon Panthers and must start over with the raggedy East Dillon Lions, over on the more diverse side of town. And even though they've graduated, FNL favorites Matt Saracen and Tim Riggins are still around and still prominent in the storylines. Coach is at a totally new school, so there are a few new cast members, too, with the standout being Michael B. Jordan, who also played Wallace on "The Wire" ("Where's Wallace at? Where's the boy, String!?"). Watch it.

Kitchen Nightmares (9pm, Fox) - The stubborn owner of a Danish eatery in Miami doesn't want to update anything (then why did he invite this show to his restaurant!?!?), but Chef Ramsay finds something in the cooler that causes him to shut the place down during the middle of dinner service. I don't even want to imagine.

Primetime: What Would You Do? (9pm, ABC) - The third season begins on this human interest show that puts actors in dangerous/controversial situations and then judges the strangers who don't intervene. It's equal parts fascinating and exploitative.

Real Time with Bill Maher (10pm, HBO) - Bill interviews historian Alan Brinkley and comedian Sarah Silverman.
