"L.A. Hair" weaves the usual mix of salon attitude & bad behavior

The hair salon has become TV short hand for diva attitude, gossip, fighting, and transformation. It's the reason why the reality genre keeps returning to there, and the reason why my favorite show typically centered on hair salons is Bravo's "Tabatha Takes On." If you're not familiar, Tabatha Coffey's mission is to remove all those characteristics and turn hair salons (and now other places) into place where work takes place.

I think Coffey would like to get her hands on the Kimble Hair Salon featured on "L.A. Hair," (9 tonight, WeTV) a high-end salon featuring stylist Kim Kimble who has done the tresses of folks like Kelly Rowland, Brandy, Mary Mary, and Omarosa. Kimble herself gets that she is supposed to be running a professional high-end salon. Her staff, not so much.

"The Fashion Show" stands on its own

Let's face it: "The Fashion Show" (tonight at 10) is Bravo's response to losing "Project Runway" and that's OK. It happens to be good.

Bravo knows how to do these shows; the network's reality fare is ridiculously addictive.

The "Show" is hosted by designer Isaac Mizrahi and singer Kelly Rowland (one of the women who was with Beyonce in Destiny's Child). Isaac, I love. If you've seen him in anything you know he's funny and smart and insightful and incisive. The man had a one-man show Off-Broadway, so you know he can perform.

BREAKING NEWS: What will take the place of "Project Runway"

As you know, "Project Runway" is in legal limbo and until its sorted out whether it will return to Bravo or move to Lifetime, Bravo has to air something.

So their solution is a show hosted by designer Isaac Mizrahi and former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland.

I don't know how Kelly is as a host, but I used to enjoy Isaac's show on the Style network. He's delightful.
