West Point group asks delay on land case

The Friends of West Point Park have asked for a 90-day delay on the Durham Planning Commission's hearing about a 60-acre tract adjoining West Point on the Eno Park.

Changes of the tract's zoning and land-use designation are on the commission's agenda at tonight's meeting, 5:30 at City Hall.

Friends of West Point president Janet Warner wrote the planning commissioners asking for the delay to allow negotiation on the land's conservation to proceed "without the legal pressure and complications of zoning actions and decisions."
