Oriental's Kevin Williamson returns with "The Vampire Diaries"

There's lots of pretty faces on the new, tonight at 8, "Vampire Diaries", (it's the CW, after all) but it's the name behind the show that matters most.

That name is Kevin Williamson, the show's co-creator and one of its main writers, who is from Oriental (near New Bern), the son of a fisherman.

So You Think You Can Dance: Results show

Lenni G. tells what happened and how Katie did:

To celebrate its 100th episode, SYTYCD revisited some of the best routines and moments of the past five years. We saw "Hummingbird and Flower" from Wade Robson featuring Jamie and Hawk, "The Bench Routine" from Mia Michaels featuring Heidi and Travis, and the incomparable "Ramalama" (Wade Robson again) featuring the season two contestants. That season totally rocked and, judging from last night re-performance, those now older kids still rock too!

What to Watch on Thursday: Katie Holmes dances, Samantha Who exits

Samantha Who? (8pm, ABC) - Back-to-back episodes will close out this very funny series tonight. And oh goody, we may get to end with never-to-be-resolved cliffhangers! Samantha is torn between Todd and Winston Funk, and her parents realize that their paths are beginning to diverge (the miserable look on her mom's face when they pulled up in the RV last week was priceless). In other news, Andrea tries to seduce her gay fiance (the second ep takes place at their wedding) and Angie Harmon guest stars as Winston's ex-wife.

Real Housewives of Atlanta: Lost Footage (8:30pm, Bravo) - Unseen footage from last season's run of the popular "Housewives" series from Atlanta.

So You Think You Can Dance (9pm, Fox) - This is the episode with Katie Holmes doing her best Judy Garland. Katie sings and dances to "Get Happy."

Burn Notice (9pm, USA) - Michael helps a boy run his abusive father out of town by convincing the man that assassins are after him. More importantly, we all saw in last week's preview that Fi gets shot in the chest. Nothing like Fi's life in being in danger to make Michael think he loves her again...

Southern Belles: Louisville (10pm, Soap) - The season finale: Emily tells her parents she's moving to Vegas; Kellie gives Jeff an answer about Chicago; Hadley makes a decision about Russ; Shae and Jeff go house shopping; and Julie returns to the runway.

So You Think You Can Dance: results show

Guest blogger Lenni G. gives you the scoop:

Nice opening routine tonight from Tyce Diorio - lots of dance gimmicks and tricks.

Cat called Karla and Vitolio and Randi and Evan to the stage. I was really pleased that Randi and Evan were declared safe since they were victims of what I thought was some "iffy" choreography the night before. Karla and Vitolio, both of whom had been in the bottom three
numerous times, were once again in the danger zone.

What to Watch on Wednesday: Katie Holmes does her best Judy Garland

So You Think You Can Dance (8pm, Fox) - The one where Katie Holmes sings and dances like Judy Garland. UPDATE: Holmes will not appear on tonight's show. US Magazine previously reported Holmes would appear this week, but E! Online now reports that Holmes will appear on the show's finale August 6. Man, if you can't trust US, who can you trust. So we'll have to wait a few more weeks to see the Judy Garland dance number.

Gordon Ramsay's F-Word (9pm, BBC America) - British TV host Kate Garraway challenges the host to beat her recipe for bread-and-butter pudding. Then Ramsay goes hunting for wabbits.

Clean House: The Search for the Messiest House in the Country (10pm, E! Style) - If your doorbell rings, don't answer it. It could be Niecy Nash.

Questions for the President: Prescription for America (10pm, ABC) - President Obama answers questions on healthcare reform at a White House forum hosted by ABC's medical editor Timothy Johnson

Katie Holmes to sing and dance on "So You Think You Can Dance"

Either this show is bigger than I thought, or Katie Holmes is having some issues with her career. US Magazine reports that the former "Dawson's Creek" actress and wife of actor Tom Cruise, will sing and dance on Fox's competition dance show, "So You Think You Can Dance."

Holmes danced in an episode of "Eli Stone" in 2008.

US says that Holmes has been practicing her performance for quite some time, working with choreographer Tyce Diorio. Holmes is rehearsing Judy Garland's famous "Get Happy" number and will perform dressed in a black leotard and wearing a black fedora.

"So You Think You Can Dance" airs on Fox Wednesday at 8pm (results show Thursday at 9pm).
