At the request of the show's creator, Bryan Fuller, NBC has decided to pull the fourth episode of their serial killer drama "Hannibal" due to the current "cultural climate" in the country (recent violent tragedies in Newtown, Boston, etc.).
The episode, which will not air in the U.S., was about a woman (played by Molly Shannon) who brainwashed children to kill other children. (That episode will air overseas and the craftier among you will likely be able to find it online at some point.)
To ensure no important character development from the episode is lost, NBC is posting a series of webisodes online that will deal primarily with the relationship between therapist Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Abigail Hobbs (Kacey Rohl), daughter of serial killer Garrett Jacob Hobbs, and also between Hannibal and FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).
Below is the first webisode released by NBC. It actually starts with a look back at Will and Hannibal's first encounter with Abigail (scenes from Episode 2) and then proceeds with a creepy scene cut from Episode 4. As other clips are released, I'll post them here.
Episode 5 will air Thursday night at 10 on NBC.
