"Dancing with the Stars" results: Did the wrong person go?

"Dancing with the Stars" correspondent Lenni G on last night's surprising elimination:

Who says screaming is only appropriate on Halloween?  Justin Bieber, aka The "Biebs," was in the ballroom last night singing "Never Say Never" as well as a song from his new Christmas album featuring Boyz II Men as his backup singers.  Very nice.

Team Paso (Ricki, Rob, Hope and their star partners) got the encore spot and looked really good again.

Christina Perri provided the music for Victoria-Rose, a young dancer recovering from a life threatening brain tumor.  Very inspirational.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Bieber on 'Dancing,' 'New Girl' back after a break

Dancing with the Stars (9pm, ABC) - Tonight's results show includes performances by Justin Bieber, Boyz II Men, and Christina Perri.

New Girl (9pm, Fox) - This show is back tonight after a few weeks off, and I'm sad to admit I didn't miss it a bit. Tonight: Nick lands a date with an attractive coworker (Lake Bell) but then Jess (Zooey Deschanel, left) accidentally walks in on him naked and her laughter kills his self-confidence. As I'm sure it would for anyone.

Raising Hope (9:30pm, Fox) - While camped out on the lawn due to a termite infestation, the Chances learn that Hope unveiled a violent streak at day care, and now they're afraid she inherited her mother's serial-killer gene.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Kristina plans a family night that doesn't go as expected, and Crosby worries he'll be replaced by Jasmine's new boyfriend.

Covert Affairs (10pm, USA) - In the winter premiere, Annie feels lonely during some downtime following a failed mission in Venice.

Ultimate Factories (10pm, National Geographic Channel) - The Season 5 opener visits a BMW plant in South Carolina for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the X3.

UNC notes: Williams gives O-line extra punch

CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina’s offensive line boasts plenty of experience, what with veterans Jonathan Cooper, Cam Holland and James Hurst (who have started a combined 60 games).  But new starter Brennan Williams is adding a big extra punch – quite literally.

The junior tackle from West Roxbury, Mass., earned his black belt in taekwondo when he was 14 years old. The control, focus and balance he learned from practicing martial arts makes him a force to be reckoned with in the trenches  -- especially combined with his 6-feet-7, 315-pound frame.

“He’s so big – but he’ll be in the locker room, doing karate moves,’’ sophomore quarterback Bryn Renner said.  “I’ll be like, ‘Whoa.’ It’s kind of intimidating.”

Ashley Burnette has a fever, and the only cure is...Justin Bieber

Back in late March, I reported on Ashley Burnett -- a young Raleigh girl whose love of Justin Bieber helped her cope with her fight against neuroblastoma. She dreamed of meeting Bieber someday, so a few of her friends made a video to try and help out. Less than three months later, darned if it didn't happen!

Scotty McCreery to present at CMT Music Awards

Scotty McCreery will be a presenter at next week's 2011 CMT Music Awards, an awards show produced by the Country Music Television cable channel.

We predict a possible teen heartthrob overload, as Justin Bieber (who has a recorded a song with country band Rascal Flatts) will also present.

Sadly, Scotty and the Biebs are not at this time scheduled to perform.

Other presenters include "American Idol" runner-up Lauren Alaina, Shania Twain, Sheryl Crow, and Kristen Chenoweth. Kid Rock will serve as host.

The 2011 CMT Music Awards airs live on Wednesday, June 8, at 8 pm on CMT. You can also watch on CMT.com.

Ashley Burnette has Bieber fever

Since last summer, 7-year-old Ashley Burnette of Raleigh has been battling neuroblastoma, an ugly form of childhood cancer. She has endured chemotherapy, multiple surgical procedures and a stem cell transplant, among other treatments -- always with a smile and often while singing Justin Bieber songs to her medical providers. Yes, she's a major fan. And the girls in her neighborhood at Kids H.O.P.E. (Kids Helping Other People Everywhere) are trying to help her realize her dream of meeting the singer.

They've made a video about Ashley and her fandom, in hopes it will attract the attention of Bieber and his handlers. If it were to go viral, that would help their cause in a big way. So let's blow this sucker up like Rebecca Black.

Gervais promises memorable Golden Globes. We'll live-blog.

The Golden Globes Awards Show airs tonight (8pm, NBC), and even though some of the nominations are pretty wack, Ricky Gervais as host should be reason enough to tune in.

Gervais, hosting for the second time, promises after tonight, the Globes will not invite him back.

Gervais told the Associated Press of his first hosting stint, "I don't think I went far enough. Obviously not, because they invited me back. So I'm going to do it again, do a proper job. And I guarantee they will not invite me back. . . . I honestly can't wait to do it. I'm going out there guns blazing like it's the end of the world."

Sounds like presenter Justin Bieber is right to feel "petrified" about the evening.

I'll be live blogging here tonight and will try hard to catch all of Gervais's barbs. Oh yeah, and the big TV winners.

"American Idol" lowers age limit

"American Idol" is apparently looking to cash in on the Justin-Bieberization of popular music, lowering its age limit from 16 to 15.

The show previously had a 16-28 age limit. The show's producers explained that they are missing out on a lot of younger talent looking for representation before the age of 16.

The first (and closest) auditions are in Nashville, TN, on July 17. So start prepping and primping your children now. If they can't wait for 15, there's always the "Toddlers and Tiaras" show on TLC.

'American Idol': The final two, plus some person named Bieber sings

"Idol" producers, faced with their least surprising elimination night in quite a while, try to pack in lots of other diversions to keep viewers tuned in for an hour. (Or actually, more than hour, because you know they can't ever finish their show on time these days.)

But before we get to the rest of our Recap, this news flash: My daughter, Parker, who has provided her comments about "Idol" on this blog this season, is apparently one of the few 9-year-old girls in the world who DOES NOT like Justin Bieber. I couldn't be more proud of her. Granted, I've had to listen to my share of Miley, the Jonas Brothers and all those "High School Musical" singers who capture the imagination of pre-teen girls. But Bieber, who'll be performing two songs on this results show? Parker's not feeling the love for him. That's my girl.

We now return to the regularly scheduled Recap ...

What to Watch on Saturday: Tina Fey hosts SNL

Patricia Cornwell's At Risk (9pm, Lifetime) - In a new Lifetime movie based on a novel by Patricia Cornwell, an ambitious Boston DA (Andie McDowell) sends a detective (Daniel Sunjata) to Tennessee to investigate a decades-old murder in hopes of promoting her tough-on-crime initiative. In case you couldn't guess, this is not a Scarpetta movie. Annabelle Gish and Diahann Carroll also star.

Saturday Night Live (11:30pm, NBC) - Tina Fey has confirmed she will reprise her Sarah Palin impression in her hosting duties tonight. Also, give the kiddies some coffee because Justin Bieber is the musical guest (OMG! OMG! Screeeeech!).

Austin City Limits (12midnight, UNC-TV) - It's a repeat, but still -- it's Kings of Leon and Roky Erikson
