The NC State Fair cometh

Something country, something Christian, something television-related -- and most all if it rather wholesome. Sounds like the live-concert lineup for the 2009 North Carolina State Fair. One headliner is still to be announced, but so far it looks like this:

Oct. 15 -- Jason Michael Carroll
Oct. 16 -- Third Day
Oct. 17 -- Kellie Pickler
Oct. 18 -- Nat and Alex Wolff (from Nickelodeon's Naked Brothers Band)
Oct. 19 -- Jamey Johnson
Oct. 20 -- Temptations featuring Dennis Edwards
Oct. 21 -- Julianne Hough ("Dancing With the Stars" champion)
Oct. 22 -- To be announced.
Oct. 23 -- Jeremy Camp, Tenth Avenue North
Oct. 24 -- Blake Shelton
Oct. 25 -- Eric Church

Raleigh native wins "Dancing With the Stars" contest

If you watched the “Dancing With the Stars” results show on May 12, you saw the work of Raleigh native Becky Farmer.

Farmer was the winner of the Macy’s Design a Dance contest, which asked the viewers to choose the song, type of dance, costume design and male and female lead dancers for a special segment.

Farmer, a former Millbrook High School student, submitted the winning costume design and sat in the audience at the live show to see Julianne and Derek Hough, Mark Ballas and Lacey Schwimmer wear her designs.

Dancing with the Stars: Julianne not returning to show

One of the most popular professional dancers on ABC's hit show Dancing with the Stars, Julianne Hough, says she will not be returning to the show next season.

Hough is also a country music singer, like her boyfriend Chuck Wicks who was eliminated from DWTS competition Tuesday night.
