The executive director of a Durham nonprofit has been named one of Forbes Magazine's "30 under 30" in science and healthcare.
Joshua Sommer dropped out of Duke University to found the Chordoma Foundation.
Sommer, 24, was diagnosed with chordoma, a rare bone cancer, when he was a freshman at Duke. His foundation has since raised several million dollars for research.
Forbes does a "30 under 30" for a range of different fields. The lists will appear in next week's print edition of the magazine.
