Today's free DVD giveaway could make you scream like a teenage girl!

Congratulations to Jamye, Dan C. of Raleigh and Rodney of Clayton!

They were the weekend winners of our DVD giveaway.

Today we continue with something for the young'uns or the young at heart.

Cue the screaming, it's "Jonas: Rockin' the House Volume 1."

From the Disney Channel comes the show featuring Kevin, Nick and Joe facing the same challenges as the average teen while they also handle being internationally known famous rock stars. (I TOTALLY understand their struggle.)

You get five episodes, plue two full bonus episodes and the exclusive "You've Just Been Jo Bro'd" DVD feature that takes you along with the Jonas Brothers as they try to surprise their co-star. And there's a collectible card inside that MAY be autographed by Nick.

Even better, we'll throw in a copy of "17 Again" starring Zac Efron, all the better to get your Disney on!

Just email me (adrienne.johnson@newsobserver.com) with the name of breakout Disney Channel star who famously dated Nick Jonas in the subject line. In the body, give your name and contact information. Entries with the correct answer will be put in a random drawing to choose a winner.

We'll take emails until midnight. (Monday, Dec.14) Check back tomorrow for the winner and a new chance to win.

Demand for Jonas Brothers 3-D concert in HD?

It's what has been missing from your sad little life so far: the Jonas Brothers in 3-D and HD.

Starting June 15, your dreams can come true when "Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience" shows up on Time Warner Cable's HD Movies On Demand channel. Enjoy an upclose, behind-the-scenes look at the JoBros in what Disney calls a "rockumentary feature film."

The film features excerpts from their Burning Up tour, starring Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift, and also offers glimpses into the personal lives of Kevin, Nick, and Joe.

Time Warner Cable is even giving away free 3-D glasses to promote the event (while supplies last, of course) at any of their retail or payment centers. HD Movies on Demand is channel 502 in the Raleigh area, and the movie will set you back $4.99.

Jonas Brothers rock Raleigh, fans swoon

We enlisted a Jonas Brothers fan to review their concert in Raleigh Wednesday night, and here it is. There's also a lovely photo gallery of shots from the trio's show (and golf date while they were in town).

ADDENDUM (10/28/08): Their first movie is an odd choice.

Jonas Brothers fans show the love

When we first announced our Jonas Brothers contest, asking readers to write in why they should review the wildly popular tween trio's upcoming Raleigh concert for the paper, I thought reader response would be modest. Our prize was but a single pair of tickets and the solicitation didn't get prominent play. Entries were due just four days later, so I figured on 40 or 50 entries from the immediate vicinity.

Instead, 10 times that many people entered. More than 400 entries came in before deadline (plus a bunch more afterward), from all over America and beyond. Not just Canada, but Darfur, Australia, Malayisia. Some of the entries were funny, some were moving, some deeply disturbing and at least one had me wondering if I ought to alert Child Protective Services. The overwhelming majority had a tone just short of hysterical. Whatever you think of their music -- and I'd hardly call myself a fan -- the Jonas Brothers' fan fervor is impressive.

In any event, we have our winner: 16-year-old Katia Martinez of Cary. You can read her winning submission, plus the runners-up and honorable-mentions in Friday's What's Up section. The winner's review of Wednesday night's concert will run in the paper on Sunday, Aug. 3.

And before anyone else asks, no, we don't have any more tickets (or backstage passes) to give away.

JoBros calling

The Jonas Brothers are playing That There Shed in Raleigh on July 30, and the heartthrob trio's popularity is so ginormous right now that a review is called for. Since the JoBros phenomenon is basically review-proof, we've decided to get a fan to review the concert -- based on who makes the best case for being the right person for the job, in 300 words or less. Entries are due noon Friday, and the winner gets two free tickets; scope details here.

ADDENDUM (7/16/08): This might account for why we've had entries come in from as far away as Malaysia.
