Duke University professor Miguel Nicolelis was a guest last night on 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,' discussing his new book 'Beyond Boundaries." Nicolelis' amazing work will soon help paralyzed people walk again with the help of a full-body robotic vest that moves according to brain commands. Watch the interview below.

Jon Stewart had Raleigh native David Sedaris back on "The Daily Show" last night, pointing out that David is one of his top two favorite Sedarises/Sedari (like Jon, we're unsure of the plural of "Sedaris").

Sedaris talked about his new book, "Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk" (Sedaris tells Stewart he wanted to call his book "Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls"). And he tells a really funny joke about a snail. Trust me, it was funny.

NC homeboy Zach Galifianakis is all over the place these days promoting his new movie "Due Date." Last week, he lit up on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher," and last night he was a guest on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."

Zach told a really funny story about the last time he ran into Jon Stewart, but first he talked about how he used to hitchhike when he was in college (at N.C. State) in the early 90s. When Stewart pointed out that people learned in the 70s not to do that, Zach said, "I was trying to bring it back."

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert held their joint Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear today in Washington.

As they promised, it wasn't political at all, it was basically an extended combined version of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report," with Stewart and Colbert comically debating the virtues of reasonableness versus fear. Plus a bunch of special guests and a great speech on tolerance by Stewart at the end. If anyone got the sharp end of the Stewart/Colbert stick, it was the media -- mostly the 24-hour cable news media (and no, it wasn't just Fox News getting criticism).

The rally was at times boring and tedious (thanks for nothing, "Mythbusters" guys) but often really entertaining (check out the photo gallery).

I'm not writing a traditional recap, but I did live-tweet the rally (@WarmTV) and I've pasted my tweets and retweets below. (UPDATED: Clips from the rally have been posted at Comedy Central).

The rally opened at noon with The Roots and John Legend performing, and I started tweeting right after that. Here's what happened:

If you're not traveling up to D.C. this weekend to help restore sanity and/or fear in person, you can still keep up with goings on via television.

Comedy Central and C-Span will both broadcast the rally live in its entirety Saturday starting at noon.

In addition to hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, expect performances from The Roots, Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) with Mavis Staples, and Sheryl Crow. There will also be some surprise guests, a poetry reading from Sam Waterston (gotta tune in for that alone!) and a benediction from Don Novello (aka Father Guido Sarducci).

CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News may also cover portions of the rally, if something newsworthy happens.

Project Runway (9pm, Lifetime) - In part one of the two-part season finale, Tim Gunn visits the hometowns of the finalists to check the progress on their collections.

CSI (9pm, CBS) - A dead body is discovered beneath piles of garbage inside the house of a woman who is known for hoarding, and she becomes the prime suspect in the case.

Jersey Shore (10pm, MTV) - The Season 2 finale ends with a huge fight between Pauly D. and J-Woww.

CNN has fired Rick Sanchez after a SiriusXM radio interview this week in which Sanchez called Comedy Central's Jon Stewart a "bigot" and implied that CNN and the media as a whole are run by Jews.

Sanchez, the host of "Rick's List," was on the radio show to promote his book, "Conventional Idiocy."

"The Daily Show" loves to make fun of South Carolina, but last night Jon Stewart turned his eye North to the "marginally saner Carolina" (his words, not mine!). 

Stewart tackled AndyGate. You know what we're talking about. How the world has turned against poor old Andy Griffith because he made a commercial supporting health care reform. In the segment titled "Mayberry, WTF," a stunned Stewart asks, "How do you turn against Opie's pa? Matlock! He's a Presidential Medal of Freedom winner. What happened, North Carolina, did Griffith wipe his [behind] on one of Dean Smith's old jackets?" 

Stewart also shows a clip of Fox News host Bill O'Reilly chastising correspondent Megyn Kelly for not knowing that "Thelma" was "Andy's squeeze" (O'Reilly then makes some bad gay jokes about Andy and Barney). So then Jon Stewart calls out O'Reilly because AS WE ALL KNOW, Thelma Lou was Barney's girlfriend and Helen Crump was Andy's. So there, Fox News.

Is Comedy Central's "Daily Show with Jon Stewart" a big ole boys club?

That's what Jezebel charged in a recent online article. The women who actually work at "The Daily Show" responded today in an open letter.

Betty White appeared on "The Daily Show" Monday night and got tons of love from Jon Stewart and the audience, who chanted her name when she came out. It's a really cute interview. What's puzzling is that she once again states that she just won't joke about drugs, but she has a pot joke in the first scene of her new sitcom "Hot in Cleveland," which debuts tonight. Or maybe I'm not clear on exactly what constitutes joking about drugs. But no matter what Betty White is joking around about, she's hilarious. Check out the video below.
