A recount was needed.
But after painstaking research of previous four years' worth of games, Cary Academy can now say for sure which one of its talented seniors is the school's all-time scoring leader in boys basketball.
In the last week of their season, Cary Academy basketball players Jimmy Joyner (below, left) and Cameron Walton (below, right) each topped the 1,000 point mark in their careers, making them the first players in school history to do so.
After a first-round loss to Durham Academy in the TISAC tournament, Joyner ends his junior year as the all-time leading scorer in Cary Academy history with 1,057 points. Walton, also a junior, is close behind with 1,023.
