N&O baseball player of the year Jimmy Boyd of state 4A champion Middle Creek is joined by Matthew Parrish of West Johnston, Wood Myers and Alex Raburn of Durham Jordan, Will Gilbert of Green Hope, Vance Vizciano of Wakefield, Garrett Suggs of Fuquay-Varina and Matt Tenuta of Apex on the N.C. Baseball Coaches Association all-state team.

The North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association has released its 2009 All-State baseball teams this week. Two players from our area were named to the list, one a senior, the other a freshman.

Eric Brady, from Green Hope High and headed to Duke next year, batted over .500 this past year as the shortstop on the Tri-Eight co-champion Falcons.

Jimmy Boyd did a little of everything for Middle Creek as a freshman, playing third base and pitching some too as the Mustangs were also Tri-Eight co-champions.
