Jessica Simpson just can't define "The Price of Beauty"

Jessica Simpson comes back to reality TV tonight, this time with a more serious mission in "The Price of Beauty" (VH1, 10 pm).

And it makes sense. Goodness knows she was beat up way too much for those unfortunate high-waisted jeans and double belt. Bad fashion choice aside, the real crime seemed to be that she had a fuller figure than we thought she should. Just crazy.

That might send anyone on a journey to explore issues of beauty around the world, which is what Simpson does with pals Ken Paves and CaCee Cobb. Simpson says she hopes in the end to define beauty for herself. Yet based on two episodes, I'm not sure she gets there.

Jessica Simpson "thrilled" to be in Macy's store windows

And what designer wouldn't be, really. Simpson tells In Touch Weekly magazine that her dreams as a designer have come true by having items from her Jessica Simpson Collection in 10 windows at Macy's flagship store in New York.

"What a thrill!" she told the magazine. "As a kid, one of my favorite things to do was to go window shopping at Macy's when I visited New York. It seems surreal to now be featured in those windows. They look beautiful."

Expect to see more of Jessica. She just launched a new lingerie line with Vandale Industries and is working on a new VH1 series called "The Price of Beauty."

More reality for Jessica Simpson

Her country career is kaput.

Her marriage to Nick Lachey went south.

Dallas Cowboy fans blame her for Tony Romo's quarterback failures.

And
those mom jeans with the animal skin belt caused quite a ruckus.

It's not easy being Jessica Simpson.

But you got to give it up to the girl -- she doesn't give up easy.

She got a Vanity Fair cover, her fashion line makes millions, and now word is that she's working on a new reality show.
