Intersouth Partners is moving from Durham's American Tobacco Campus to nearby Rogers Alley.
The venture capital firm has signed a lease to occupy 3,100 square feet in the Fire Station #1 building owned by Greenfire Development.
The new space will be much smaller than the 10,000 square feet it has occupied in American Tobacco. That space has always been too large for the firm, said Communications Director Suzanne Cantando.
"Even though we’ve incubated some of the start-up companies we fund here over the years, including 6fusion and Viamet, we have a large amount of space that we’ve never used," she said in an email.
Intersouth Partners will relocate to its new space by July 1.
Greenfire restored the Fire Station #1 building in 2007. Originally built in 1890, it was once home to the Golden Belt Hose Company's volunteer firefighting squad.
