Information technology jobs keep growing

Job postings for information technology openings in this state continue climbing out of the recessionary abyss.

Companies statewide posted 3,970 openings in July, a figure not seen since mid-2008, and an 18.5 percent increase from June.

It's the sixth consecutive month of rising job postings in the IT field, according to SkillProof, a Connecticut research firm.

IT job openings continue climbing

It may sound hard to believe, but job postings in North Carolina for information technology openings have crept back up to levels not seen since the economy imploded in the fall of 2008.

Companies statewide posted 3,350 openings in June, a figure comparable to September 2008, the month that Lehman Brothers collapsed.

June openings represent a nearly 13 percent increase over May openings, according to data compiled by SkillProof in Connecticut and issued this morning by the N.C. Technology Association.
