Wake County school board candidate Heather Losurdo makes "a case for neighborhood schools" in a new campaign mailer.
In this new mailer, Losurdo says she will advocate for more neighborhood schools if she's elected to District 3. She maintains more neighborhood schools will save on transportation costs and lead to greater parental and community involvement.
"A neighborhood can be strengthened by its school and a school can be strengthened by its neighborhood," Losurdo says in the mailer. "With neighborhood schools, we will have more children walking to school and more children will be able to stay after school to participate in extra-curricular activities such as music, arts, sports and clubs."
