RailHawks 4 sale: Not gone for good?

I stopped by WakeMed Soccer Park to take in the firesale of RailHawks assets. But are these really collector's items? I'll explain in a little bit.

Hawks' Nest Notes: The wait continues

I received a lot of positive response to my "Point After" column yesterday that called for the front office of the Carolina RailHawks to be more transparent and honest with its fans. It was titled "Now's time to be open."

Hawks' Nest Notes: Potential RailHawks

Although recent events make this seem somewhat silly, here are a few short bios on players invited to Carolina RailHawks tryouts from this past week. Yep, we're talking about potential players for a team that might not exist this year, much less be called the RailHawks, in a league that might not exist.

Seems silly, but it's a promise I made to my faithful readers of today's Cary News. So here they are:

Norkus no longer "Mr. RailHawk"

Caleb Norkus, once referred to as "Mr. RailHawk" for his community service and  distinction as one of two Carolina RailHawks left over from the original 2006 team, said Thursday night that he was released from the team at the end of last season. Norkus, 31, said it being let go by his hometown team was "painful." He believes at this time that his playing career is done and he would like to focus on coaching.

Hawk's Nest Notes: UPDATE: record yes, 7th no

Well this has been confusing.

Hawk's Nest Notes: Rusin gone, Bundu likely out for year

After a few standard questions about the game itself, it was time for some personnel-related questions. Particularly, guys we hadn't seen on the pitch in awhile like Brad Rusin, Kupono Low, Sallieu Bundu and Matt Bobo.

Hawk's Nest Notes: August will be an important month

The month of August could be a huge one as far as where the Carolina RailHawks end the year in the final USSF D2 standings.  The RailHawks have still played fewer games (17) than ever other league team but will get plenty of chances to make up ground with seven August contests — four coming at home.

Hawk's Nest Notes: Officially official -- Russell's a RailHawk

The Carolina RailHawks today announced Scottish Premiere League forward Alan Russell had been signed to a contract. The move is still pending USSF approval.

Russell had been anticipated to sign with Carolina as early as July 14, but did not make the venture to Cary until this week.

Russell could see action as soon as Tuesday's home game against Rochester.

Hawk's Nest Notes: Plus/Minus RailHawks numbers

The plus/minus statistic is better known for its usage in hockey. But let's see what we get when applying it to the RailHawks.

Hawk's Nest Notes: More on RailHawks recent move

A lot has been going on with the Carolina RailHawks as of late. The team is opening up for more investors, coaches and players are being suspended after controversial endings, a new player isn't in town yet and the team just suffered its first road loss of the year last night.

Here's what you've missed in just this week alone...
