CMA Awards (8pm, ABC) - The 44th Annual CMA awards show, hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, features a tribute to Loretta Lynn performed by Miranda Lambert and Sheryl Crow. And get this -- Gwenyth Paltrow makes her country music singing debut. No kidding. Also, Jason Aldean duets with Kelly Clarkson, and there are other performances by Dierks Bentley, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Reba, George Strait, Sugarland, and Taylor Swift.

Circus (9pm, UNC-TV) - The latest installment finds the Big Apple Circus troupe in Virginia for the first stop on its tour, but things don't go as planned: a pivotal act is cut, forcing a last-minute reworking of the show; a company regular is diagnosed with cancer; and ticket sales are poor. The 10pm episode finds the circus at New York's Lincoln Center, where sales are brisk but the weather is uncooperative.

Law & Order: SVU (9pm, NBC) - An FBI agent (Marcia Gay Harden) is raped while working undercover, and she asks Benson to have her rape kit tested. She then quickly resumes her work to preserve her cover, and only reluctantly allows detectives to become involved in the case.

Biography: The Bee Gees (9pm, Bio Channel) - A special two-hour "Bio" on the Brothers Gibb, who were propelled to fame by the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack in the 70s. Features interviews with surviving brothers Barry and Robin (Maurice died in 2003), plus home movies and family photographs (including "little Andy," my personal favorite).

Harry Loves Lisa (10pm, TVLand) - In the first series finale, Harry takes command of his future after failing to land a job during pilot season, while Lisa must decide about corrective surgery to reduce the size of her lips.

Psych (10pm, USA) - Season 5 resumes as Despereaux (Cary Elwes) uses Shawn and Gus to escape from prison and pull off one last job. But his plan takes an unexpected turn when he's framed for murdering an attorney, so he has to ask Shawn and Gus for help.

Terriers (10pm, FX) - It's Gretchen's wedding day and Hank stumbles back into the conspiracy threatening Ocean Beach as he fights the urge to drink. Great, great show.

The Middle/Better With You/Modern Family/Cougar Town (8pm, ABC) - ABC comedies all have special Halloween episodes tonight. On "The Middle," Frankie and Mike are invited to an adult Halloween party in the neighborhood. On "Better With You" (just picked up for a full season) Maddie is upset that her birthday, which falls on Halloween, is always overshadowed, so Mia and Casey offter to throw her a party. On "Modern Family," Claire's elaborate Halloween plans (evidence at lef) depend on the rest of the family's help with trick-or-treaters, and the holiday conjures up terrible memories for Cameron. On "Cougar Town," Jules reluctantly dons a costume for Halloween when her father (Ken Jenkins, "Scrubs") comes to visit on his favorite holiday.

Undercovers (8pm, NBC) - This show falls under the "watch it while you can" category -- most are expecting it get axed any day now. But for now, you can watch the Blooms try to recover a  painting that's hiding a formula for a biological weapon. Or not.

Criminal Minds (9pm, CBS) - In an especially creepy episode, the team travels to Detroit to catch a killer who, for the past three years, strikes on "Devil's Night," the city's pre-Halloween celebration.

I'd Do Anything (9pm, BBC America) - The premiere of a new series in which hundreds of aspiring stage actors attend open casting calls in London for the lead roles in Andrew Lloyd Webber's West End revival of "Oliver!"

Harry Loves Lisa (10pm, TV Land) - Harry gets some help from Ed Begley Jr. with a a rodent problem, but his preoccupation with the infestation begins to overshadow his upcoming 13th wedding anniversary with Lisa.

Daily Show with Jon Stewart (11pm, Comedy Central) - Stewart is doing his show from DC this week, and tonight's guest is President Barack Obama.

Survivor: Nicaragua (8pm, CBS) - NaOnka and local girl Kelly Bruno engage in a small war over the hunt for the hidden immunity idol.

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - When an earthquake strikes, Cameron and Mitchell see a way out of a costume brunch thrown by their friend Pepper, played by Nathan Lane. Also, Claire is trapped in the bathroom with a plumber and Manny undergoes a crisis of existential proportions on an outing with Jay.

Law & Order: Los Angeles (10pm, NBC) - The detectives are on the case after a cult member is stabbed to death. The cult's leader is questioned, along with the victim's cell mate and Det. Winters' wife, Lori. Terrence Howard has DA duty tonight.

Harry Loves Lisa (10pm, TV Land) - The premiere of a new reality series following the lives of married actors Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna. Adrienne has more about the show here.

Steven Seagal Lawman (10pm, A&E) - In the second season opener, Seagal and his team witness a head-on collision and search for a suspect in a double-homicide case.

Terriers (10pm, FX) - What is the best show on TV that you're not watching? This one. The Lindus conspiracy widens around Hank and Britt (left) in tonight's episode, as they have just 24 hours to fix the mess they're in or Mark will no longer be able to protect them (if you watched last week, you know the mess I'm referring to).

Top Chef: Just Desserts (10pm, Bravo) - Forget the challenges, watch to see which pastry chef breaks down in tears tonight. It will happen.

Also tonight, a new season of "Mythbusters" (9pm) starts tonight on Discovery, and new seasons of  "South Park" (10pm) and "Ugly Americans" (10:30pm) begin on Comedy Central. Here's a funny recap of Season 1 of "Ugly Americans."

Reality shows have become the comeback vehicle, the extra income for a certain level of actor (B or fading).

Yet, typically that's not acknowledged. Everyone involved acts like the shows are a gift to fans, letting them in to a private life we yearn to know more about.

Not "Harry Loves Lisa" (TV Land, 10 tonight). In the show, starring acting couple Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna, they make it clear right away that they need work. Hamlin put his career aside, while Rinna's star was rising, to raise their two lovely little girls. But now, at (a really good-looking) 58, he's ready to return to a regular gig. Indeed, they both need a second chance.
