If you're a fan of Centsible Saver on Facebook, be sure to check the page today to see if you won a grocery gift card to Lowes Foods or Harris Teeter.

I picked two winners at random just a few mintues ago.

Congrats to the winners. And my thanks to all 250-plus of you who signed on as fans of the page since its launch a week ago.

One day left to enter my grocery gift card giveway

Here's a friendly reminder to enter my grocery gift card giveaway.

All you have to do is become a fan of my new Centsible Saver Facebook page and you've got a chance to win one of two $10 gift cards -- one each to Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods.

Sunday's new coupons = FREEBIES

Our coupon database is updated and ready to roll with Sunday's new coupons -- all 73 from the Smart Source insert, plus some extra coupons you'll find in a special Kroger insert.

At least two of the new coupons will put some freebies in your shopping cart.

Here's a list of the coupons I'm most excited about this week for their deal potential:

Friday freebies (Aug. 19)

It's Friday so it's freebie time. I've got 10 for you this time around. What a great way to end the week! Click "read more" for all the freebie details.

Wednesday deals (Aug. 17-23)

The deals are plentiful this week with lots of good sales. But, if I were forced to pick one store to shop at this week, it would have to be Harris Teeter, which has tons of BOGO, B1G2 and B2G3 deals. Many of the bargains have a back-to-school theme with lots of breakfast and easily-packed lunch foods on sale. But there's also a lot of meats and seafoods on sale, too, for you folks who don't like the packaged products.

At the other stores, I especially like the $1.99 butter e-offer at Lowes Foods as well as its 3-day sale over the weekend. And if you have the .55/1 coupon, the Almond Breeze milk is a good deal at $1.40. At Food Lion, chicken leg quarters are 59 cents per pound and store-brand 2-liters of soda are just 73 cents each. And finally, at Aldi, the prices on summer produce continue to be good with peaches, plums and nectarines all under $1 a pound.

Read on for a store-by-store breakdown of good deals. And remember, these are just the deals that caught my eye. Please chime in with the bargains you spotted. Couponing is definitely a team sport!

Centsible Saver giving away a little grocery money

I've got a couple of grocery gift cards up for grabs. Anyone interested?

Both are for $10 - one each to Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods.

Harris Teeter Super Doubles Update: Deals with Sunday's new coupons

If you've exhausted your supply of coupons on Super Doubles this week, the new batch in today's N&O provides a few more opportunities to snare some bargains, including two freebies!

Here's what I found:

Deal alert: FREE movie ticket when you buy candy and popcorn

Here's a great deal for movie lovers: Get a free movie ticket when you buy two medium-size bags of M&Ms and a 3-pack of Orville Redenbacher popcorn.

And the timing couldn't be more perfect because both the candy and the popcorn are on sale at Harris Teeter and there's a $1/2 coupon on the M&Ms that will Super Double this week.

Reporting in from Super Doubles: How did you do?

I saw a lot of folks with binders this morning at the Harris Teeter in Apex when I was there doing my deals just before 7 a.m.

I left happy, toting my $65.86 worth of groceries. I paid $5.20, a little more than a 92 percent savings.

How did you folks do? Please report in. I'd love to hear if you got all the deals you were hoping to find and how much you saved.

There was nothing fancy (or extreme) about my transaction -- just 20 coupons I clipped from the newspaper with the exception of my Lean Cuisine Qs, which I picked up on vacation in Maine earlier this summer, and the Sargento coupons, which came from the Penguin board in the grocery store.

Here's what I bought:

Wednesday deals (Aug. 10-16)

The Super Doubles event at Harris Teeter is definitely the headline of this week's grocery store sales, but there are still notable deals to be had at the other stores.

I especially like the free Bob Evans side dishes, free granola bars and free Kozy Shack puddings at Lowes Foods. The 3-day sale items at Food Lion are also noteworthy. And Harris Teeter has some great deals unrelated to Super Doubles, including Fiber One cereal for a buck and Arnold Sandwich Thins for 74 cents.

Read on for all the best deals of the week.

(If you want to focus all your efforts on Super Doubles, click here to check out the good deals list I posted, which is tailored to the coupons we received here in the Triangle.)
