I hit Harris Teeter early to shop the first day of Super Doubles armed with a detailed list, a fully loaded coupon binder and a back-up plan.
Luckily, the shelves were fully stocked and I walked out with a couple bags bulging with groceries and change back from a $1 bill.
Total before coupons and vic savings: $60.16.
Total paid: 55 cents.
Here's what I bought:
- 3 Smart Balance half-gallons of milk
- 2 Dawn dish liquids
- 2 Blue Diamond Almonds
- 2 Blue Diamond Nut-Thins
- 1 Wholly Guacamole
- 2 Crisco Oils
- 3 Aveeno lotions
- 1 Nuetrogena Hand Cream
- 2 cans Swanson broth
- 1 BestLife Buttery Spread
- 1 Febreeze Set & Refresh
- 1 Febreeze Air Effects
- 1 Sara Lee pound cake
In addition to my paper coupons, I had digital e-vic coupons for one Dawn and both Febreeze products. I also had a raincheck on the bottles of Crisco oil, which made them just 27 cents each after Super Doubles.
Then I "paid" with a $4 OYNO coupon I earned last week. That left me with 55 cents of tax to pay. Even better, the register spit out another $4 coupon for me to spend on a future order.
You might be wondering how in the world I'm going to feed my family on this grocery order. Obviously not.
Since our pantry and freezer are pretty well-stocked, I have the luxury of taking the week off from a full-blown shopping trip.
But I will be heading back out later this week to pick up the great chicken and produce deals at Aldi. And if I have time, I'll return to Harris Teeter to snare a few more Super Doubles deals.
