Cary Christian star runningback Sam Casucci broke away for touchdown runs of 49, 45, and 96 yards in the final quarter to lift the Knights to a 48-34 win in the NCISAA eight-man football playoffs. Cary (8-2) is seeded second behind Raleigh Word of God. The Knights will host either Northeast Academy or St. David's next week in the state semi-finals.

Word of God playing its home games at North Garner Middle School, which is eight miles from Word of God.
“At a lot of our games, we’d have the team, a few moms and dads and a handful of students,” said Word of God coach James Jenkins.

Halifax rolled up 373 yards on the ground. St. David’s quarterback Forrest Brandt completed 14 of 34 passes for 312 yards in the loss.
