Well, the good news is that Bruce Springsteen's U.S. tour includes a North Carolina date. But the bad news is that said date ain't here in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill vicinity. It's over in the Triad, March 19 at Greensboro Coliseum. On-sale date for those who want to make the trek is Feb. 3.
Bruce Springsteen goes west (of the Triangle)

Okay, that's catty and unfair of me, declaring a show a "trainwreck" nearly three months before it happens. Who knows, maybe it will go off like clockwork and be an artistic masterpiece -- or maybe it will be one of those shows that generates puzzling headlines.
Either way, you can find out on Sept. 5, when the Britney Spears Circus Tour hits North Carolina. It isn't coming to the Triangle, of course. So if you care, you'll have to journey over to the Greensboro Coliseum. Tickets go on sale June 19 at 11 a.m.

The good news is that Bruce Springsteen's PR-blitz-fueled 2009 tour is coming to North Carolina. And the bad news is, you guessed it, not to the Triangle. He plays Greensboro Coliseum on May 2. Tickets go on sale Feb. 6.
ADDENDUM: And here's another -- Fallout Boy playing Charlotte on April 24, but not over here.
Grateful Dead in NC: 336, not 919

It figures: The Grateful Dead will open their big reunion tour in North Carolina -- but over in Greensboro, rather than the Triangle, on April 12.
Raleigh's RBC Center appears to be available for that date, since the Carolina Hurricanes' final regular-season home game happens on April 9 (followed by a road game on April 11). Lots of factors go into venue selection; but the fact that Greensboro Coliseum seats about 3,000 more people than the RBC Center probably played a major part in where this show wound up
At any rate, the pre-sale starts on Jan. 13. Details are available here.
Lil Wayne: Good news, bad news

The good news is that Lil Wayne is coming to play in North Carolina after all, after canceling his Raleigh show scheduled for Halloween night at the RBC Center. The bad news is that it's in Greensboro, not Raleigh -- Dec. 29 at Greensboro Coliseum. Tickets go on sale Saturday.
