If you're a Wake high school junior who thought you were off the hook for a Graduation Project, think again.
The state Board of Education did vote last week to delay making the Graduation Project a statewide requirement until the Class of 2011. But the board left it up to individual school districts to decide whether to leave it in place as a requirement for the Class of 2010, who are now juniors.
Wake school officials are mulling over whether to go along with the state board action or keep it in place for the students graduating next year. A decision could come this week.
One reason for leaving it in place for the Class of 2010 is that some juniors already put a lot of work into the project.
