Fogg, Love and Womack named to East-West football game

Three area football players were named to the 51st annual NCCA East-West All-Star football game to be playedon July 21 at Grimsley High in Greensboro.

Apex safety/linebacker Mike Fogg, Green Hope defensive back Aaron Womack (pictured on left handing out a stiff arm) and wide receiver Graham Love are the three seniors who accepted invitations from the area.

Love (#10 pictured on the right jumping) had more than 730 yards receiving and (at least) nine touchdowns this year (we're missing stats from the Lee County game). He has signed with Winston Salem State.

Fogg (left) has signed with Fayetteville State.

A quick back look at Friday (9/20)

Player of the week: 463 yards. Four touchdowns. Second-highest number of rushing yards in a N.C. high school game and I wouldn't be surprised if Cory Hunter is still running somewhere. And they needed all 463 as Panther Creek wouldn't stop scoring. Unreal performance. Outside of the Tri-Nine Conference, I don't think people understand how great of a runner he is. Maybe they do now. Because it's not the system with Hunter. He took 28 carries and averaged an absurd 17.1 per carry. Already over 1,000 yards this year, Hunter — not trying to get too far ahead of myself — is going to be a threat for state career records next year.
