Mebane teen to appear on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show"

Jake Foushee, the deep-voiced internet sensation from Mebane, is in Los Angeles today taping a segment for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." The episode featuring 14-year-old Jake will air tomorrow.

Jake's YouTube videos, where he does a spot-on impression of the late Don LaFontaine (aka "The Movie Trailer King") and Optimus Prime from "Transformers," have brought him worldwide attention. He has been featured in news articles in the UK and appeared on "Good Morning America" last week.

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" airs locally on NBC-17 at 4 p.m.

Apple Juice Wars: Dr. Oz vs. Dr. Besser on GMA

An interesting argument erupted this morning on "Good Morning America," when Dr. Richard Besser called out Dr. Mehmet Oz for what Besser felt was "fear mongering" in Oz's recent report on arsenic in apple juice (the FDA has also disputed Dr. Oz's report). Watch the showdown and decide for yourself. Was Dr. Oz irresponsible in the way he presented his apple juice story?

Hill is the exccutive producer and narrates the film and Duke students helped in its production.

There's no word on where you can see the film; it's making the festival rounds right now

Take a look at the interview:

'Good Morning America' airs N.C. flea market sting

'Good Morning America' recently went undercover with agents in North Carolina to film a flea market sting to catch vendors hawking counterfeit items such as purses, shoes, electronics and dvds. The segment, which aired this morning, touted Secretary of State Elaine Marshall's "aggressive" stance against counterfeiters in the state. They never identified where the flea market was located (it didn't look like Raleigh) but did say Sgt. Henry King of the Rocky Mount Police Department headed up Operation Faux Pas, which used police officers from across the state.

Update: It's most definitely not Raleigh, as confirmed by the State Fair Grounds Flea Market folks.

You can watch the segment below.

UNC's Tom Ross isn't Delaware's Tom Ross

Tom Ross, the next president of the UNC system, was on Good Morning America this week.

Sort of.

North Carolina's Tom Ross is the current Davidson College president set to lead the UNC system starting Jan. 1.

He's not Tom Ross, chairman of Delaware's Republican Party. That's who Good Morning America interviewer George Stephanopoulos was referring to in an interview with Christine O'Donnell, a Tea Party candidate for the U.S. Senate who won a Republican primary in Delaware this week.

Delaware's Tom Ross apparently had predicted, as you can see in the screen shot above, that O'Donnell had little chance to win.

But the fella in the photo is the UNC system's next president, not the guy running Delaware's Republican Party.

North Carolina's Tom Ross apparently popped up first when someone was casting about for a photo of Delaware's Tom Ross.

Oops. Pesky Internet.

Fantasia says she didn't harm herself over a man

Combining a first interview about a suicide attempt with an appearance to plug your latest CD is a balancing act no one should have to try to pull off. There's just no way to avoid cynicism.

That was Fantasia Barrino's difficult task this morning during her "Good Morning America" appearance. Dressed in a tasteful navy blue dress, the North Carolina 'American Idol," talked with Robin Roberts, who started the interview in full reassurance mode, telling Fantasia that there were 'so many people here who love you, who adore you, and want the best for you.'

Young appeared with his wife Cheri, and were interviewed by GMA anchor George Stephanopolous.
