HOLLY SPRINGS - The Holly Springs football team came through on Senior Night with a 21-7 victory over winless Green Hope on Friday.
The Golden Hawks (2-8 overall, 1-6 Tri-9), who had not won since their season opener, led 14-7 at halftime.
The Falcons finished the season winless for the third consecutive year. Green Hope has now lost 38 straight games, dating back to the 2007 season.
HOLLY SPRINGS – Cory Hunter and Ricky Fergerson combined for 271 rushing yards to help lead Fuquay-Varina past Holly Springs 38-7 in a Tri-Nine conference game on Friday.
Hunter carried the ball 23 times for 160 yards, while Fergerson (111 yards) averaged nearly 12 yards a carry. Both runners scored a touchdown and helped the Bengals control the game with 385 total rushing yards. Fuquay improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Deandre Henry piled up 150 yards rushing, 79 yards receiving and scored two touchdowns as Cary spoiled Holly Springs’ homecoming Friday night by the score of 38-7.
Henry wasted no time giving the Imps an early lead. On the second play of the game, the junior tailback took the ball 89 yards around the right side for a touchdown.
