What to Watch on Tuesday: The Madonna Episode on "Glee"

Nova: The Big Energy Gamble (8pm, UNC-TV) - This episode of Nova looks at the environmental pros and possible economic cons of California's green initiative, which seeks to return the state's carbon dioxide emissions to 1990 levels by 2020. Also, environmentalist Ed Begley, Jr. and Bill Nye ("The Science Guy") have a contest to see who can leave the smallest carbon footprint.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - It's the much-anticipated Madonna Episode. When the boys in glee club begin to bully the girls, Will turns them on to the music of Madonna -- to empower the girls and to teach the boys respect. They perform "Express Yourself" and "Like a Prayer." All of that will be great, I'm sure. But the best part of the episode promises to be the makeover which Kurt and Mercedes give to Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch, left). And yes, they'll show Sue's "Vogue" video again.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Amber's ex boyfriend comes to town, which causes trouble. Joel and Julia worry that their daughter Sydney also has Asperger's Syndrome, and Crosby wants to help pay for Jabbar's birthday party.

Justified (10pm, FX) - A well-to-do Kentucky horse breeder is found dead of an apparent suicide and his art collection is missing. Raylan searches for the art but must also deal with the dead man's wife, who won't stop hitting on him.

"Glee" gets its "Vogue" on

"Glee" is back on the air again, finally, and Tuesday night's spring-season premiere featured a fantastic homage to Madonna's landmark 1990 "Vogue" video (sung by coach Sue Sylvester). Check that out and compare/contrast it with the original here.

(Thanks, Leigh.)

What to Watch on Tuesday: "Glee" returns!

Lost (9pm, ABC) - It's a Hugo episode.

Glee (9:28, Fox) - "Glee" finally returns! The show is a full hour long, but that 9:28 start time is sketchy. You better be watching this live if you want to make sure you get it all at the beginning and the end. Never trust your DVR when Fox is involved, since they can't seem to end "American Idol" on time ("Idol" precedes "Glee" and almost always goes late, so that could make "Glee" go late as well). Picking up from the last episode, we recall that the gang won Sectionals with an awesome, improvised "You Can't Always Get What You Want" number. Tonight, Rachel becomes involved with a competitor, and Will, who is a single man again, tries to suss out the young man's intentions. More importantly, Sue Sylvester is back from Boca and itching for battle.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (10pm, USA) - We're in the post-Goren world now, as Nichols (Jeff Goldblum) and his new partner search for the killer of an NYPD detective.

Justified (10pm, FX) - We finally meet Raylan's ex-con father (Raymond J. Barry) when he's arrested after an altercation and Raylan must bail him out of jail. Also, Raylan poses as a gardener to catch someone hiding out in a house.

Audition for a guest spot on "Glee"

Okay, Gleeks. If you can sing and dance, you have a shot at being a guest star on Fox's hit show, "Glee."

All you have to do is make a three-minute video explaining why you should be on "Glee," and also sing a bit from one of the "Glee"-approved songs ("Ain't We Got Fun," "Danny Boy," or "Take Me Out to the Ballgame"). Yes, you have to sing one of those songs, and if you make the cut, you'll get another approved song to sing.

You must be between the ages of 16 and 26 and live in the Fox 50 viewing area, and you can submit your audition (online submissions only!) until 11:59pm on April 6.

"People's Choice Awards" TV winners

I don't put a lot of stock in the "People's Choice Awards," but it's still worth noting the winners from last night's show.

"Glee" won Favorite New Comedy and "Vampire Diaries" won Favorite New Drama. "House" was also a big winner, snatching both Favorite TV Drama and Favorite TV Actor in a Drama for Hugh Laurie.

Adorable "Glee" star makes warm and fuzzy music video

Mark Salling, who plays the adorable, mohawked Puck on Fox's Golden Globe-nominated show "Glee," has made a pretty good music video about his experiences on the show. In the original acoustic number, Salling sings about his love for his work family, and how there's nowhere he'd rather be "than chillin' on 'Glee.'"

The video is mostly Salling driving in his car on the way to the "Glee" set, but also has some really cool behind-the-scenes footage of the show's cast and crew. Very nice.

Glee: Destination Horror

After a thoroughly satisfying episode in which a few old wounds were healed and a few fresh new ones were opened, "destination horror" refers both to the world of hurt in store for Will Schuester once Sue Sylvester returns tanned and rested from her Boca exile, and also to our pain at having to wait till April for a new episode of "Glee."

Everything seemed to happen last night . . .

SPOILERS AHEAD!

What to Watch on Wednesday: Last "Glee" till April

Glee (9pm, Fox) - It's the last episode of Glee till April (Fox is benching it for "American Idol") and many of the simmering plot lines are starting to come to a boil. Just when the glee club is getting ready to compete for Sectionals, the secret about the paternity of Quinn's baby is out, and the gang works to keep Rachel (and thereby Finn) from learning the truth. Also, Will has a big decision to make as Emma and Ken's wedding date draws closer.

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - Cameron and Mitchell take Lily for her first photo with Santa, and Jay resist when Gloria and Manny want to celebrate Christmas in the Colombian tradition. Fred Willard guest stars as Phil's dad.

Barbara Walters Special (10pm, ABC) - Walters is back with her list of the Most Fascinating People, and I'm back to mock her for it. Apparently I'm the only person in the world not fascinated by Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert

Top Chef: Las Vegas (10pm, Bravo) - Tonight's the finale. Go Kevin!

What to Watch on Wednesday: It has a beat you can dance to

Christmas in Rockefeller Center (8pm, NBC) - Jane Krakowski and Zachary Levi host the lighting of the big tree. Michael Buble, Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow and Alicia Keys will perform.

Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer (8pm, CBS) - Maybe the greatest Christmas special ever. A classic from 1964 with fantastic music and narration by Burl Ives.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - Budget cuts mean no yearbook photo for the glee club, which upsets Rachel, so she gets the gang a job making a commercial for a mattress company.

Grammy Nomination Concert (9pm, CBS) - A nomination concert? Really? We're doing that now? I guess we are. LL Cool J hosts, and peformers include Black Eyed Peas, Sugarland, and Nick Jonas.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Live (10pm, UNC-TV) - Performances from the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, including Beatles songs performed by Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Bono, and Bob Dylan.

What to Watch on Wednesday: The Reaper returns to "Criminal Minds"

Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now? (8pm, NBC) - NBC revisits more than 40 previous contestants from "Biggest Loser" to see how they've managed life off the ranch.

Criminal Minds (9pm, CBS) - The Reaper (C. Thomas Howell, left) returns tonight to terrorize Hotch and his family.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - Will believes Sue is leaking info about the glee club practices, so he visits with a rival club's instructor while the kids check out the competition. Also, Kurt has ulterior motives for giving Rachel a makeover.

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - There has been a lot of buzz about this episode so I'm expecting greatness. Cameron makes a special appearance as Fizbo the Clown at Luke's big birthday bash. Eric Stonestreet, who plays Cameron, used to be a clown. For real.

Cougar Town (9:30pm, ABC) - This show seems to get a little funnier each week, especially with Busy Philipps (right) as Laurie "Seriously, I fight all the time" Keller. I mean, how can you not love a character who named her horse Limp Bizkit ... because he rocked. So it's a shame production has been halted due to a Courtney Cox "family matter." But let's live in the moment and enjoy Thanksgiving with Jules and the gang.
