Larry David's true ethnicity revealed on "Lopez Tonight"

This is so funny to me, but then just about everything Larry David does cracks me up. Larry went on "Lopez Tonight" (which he seems to regret) and agreed to a DNA test to determine his true ethnicity (which he also regrets). The results from host George Lopez are surprising and hilarious (Lopez swears it's for real).

Ever think you'd see Larry David truly speechless? Well, here you go:

TBS' "Lopez Tonight": Not very funny

After my foray through the new late night shows, one thing is pretty clear: it's not as easy as it looks.

I don't mean watching them (although that would apply), I mean hosting them. I should have appreciated Johnny Carson more. Letterman, and yes, even Leno -- you guys rock. Arsenio, kudos.

After having Mo'Nique yell at me for an hour (I've tuned in briefly again and either because of exhaustion or consult, she has gotten quieter) and seeing Wanda Sykes, start out pretty good and only to become an inconsistent muddle, I moved on, with high hopes, to "Lopez Tonight," with standup/actor George Lopez.

I think I laughed once.

What to Watch on Monday: George Lopez has a new kind of talk show

House (8pm, Fox) - "House" returns tonight after a few weeks off. The team tries to help a partying team with swollen appendages who won't (and later can't) tell what happened to her. And House tags along with Cuddy and Wilson to a pharmacology conference.

How I Met Your Mother (8pm, CBS) - Barney and Robin go through a rough patch, and Lily enlists Canadian Alan Thicke to help break up the couple.

Cake Boss (10pm, TLC) - A massive cake is created for the U.S. Air Force.

Lopez Tonight (11pm, TBS) - It's the debut of another new talk show, this one from George Lopez. Lopez is the first Hispanic performer to star in a major English-language late-night TV talk show. Lopez says he wants his show to be inclusive and spontaneous, so he's done away with the standard pre-show interview. I will say that his first guests are bigger than Wanda's first guests: tonight he welcomes Ellen DeGeneres, Eva Longoria Parker, and Kobe Bryant. Carlos Santana performs.

CNN explores being "Latino in America"

Although I give CNN credit for taking on race, a topic journalism is notoriously bad at exploring, I wasn't that impressed with the results of Soledad O'Brien's reporting in "Black in America," parts one or two.

Still, I went in with an open-mind when I got the screener for "Latino in America" (tonight and Thursday at 9).

In fact, I got excited when I read the synopsis of the first two-hour report.

Lopez Joins the Late Talkers

It's starting to get crowded out there.

TBS announced today that comedian/actor George Lopez will launch a new talk show at 11pm on the network starting in November.

They say it will have an "outdoor street-party atmosphere" with celebrity guest, live music and comedy acts. Audience members will have the chance to interact with guests and ask questions.

Lopez is working with one of the producers of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "The Bonnie Hunt Show" which bodes well, at least by Brooke's standards.
