Three Pack players picked for football showcases

Three N.C. State players will get another chance to impress NFL scouts in college football all-star games later this month.

Linebacker Audie Cole and receiver T.J. Graham were picked for the Senior Bowl, which is Jan. 28 in Mobile, Ala. and tight end George Bryan will play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 21 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Frustrated Bryan making progress in Pack's offense

Little of George Bryan's senior season has gone as expected.

N.C. State's tight end and offensive captain has seen his production drop with a flurry of dropped passes in the first eight games this season.

He has also seen the Wolfpack, 9-4 and ranked a year ago, struggle to 4-4 record and in need of three wins in the final four games to get back to a bowl.

Bryan, Sweezy named Wolfpack captains

N.C. State named tight end George Bryan and defensive tackle J.R. Sweezy captains on Tuesday, the first day of football practice for the Wolfpack.

Bryan, a senior from Castle Hayne, was an All-ACC selection in both 2009 and 2010. He caught 36 passes last season. Sweezy, a senior from Mooresville, was second on the team with six sacks last season.

NC State's Bryan runs gauntlet of Wilson questions

PINEHURST -- George Bryan isn’t tired of answering questions about a guy who doesn’t even play for his team any more. Not yet.

The N.C. State tight end is happy to talk about new starter Mike Glennon, even if everyone wants to ask about the departed Russell Wilson.

“I feel like it’s definitely getting repetitive a little bit, but I will talk about it,” Bryan said. “I’m really just focused on Mike and how he’s going to do. I know he’s going to do good and I’m excited for him to be my quarterback now.”
