Greater Neuse wrestling race going down to the wire

West Johnston, East Wake and Holly Springs are all tied in the loss column for the lead in the Greater Neuse River 4-A Conference dual season race entering this week's matches. All three teams have one loss on the season, all to each other.

The Wildcats will host Smithfield-Selma on Tuesday and takes on Southeast Raleigh in Raleigh on Wednesday night.

All three teams — West, East Wake and Holly Springs — will get bids to next week's state dual tournament if they win out since the top-three finishers receive playoff bids.

High school girl wrestlers are becoming more common and holding their own against the boys.

Hair's the deal: Garner guy goes metal

Either you love hair metal or you are a loser. There is no gray area.

So if winning is your thing — and I suggest that it should be — DVR tonight's Friday night's (sorry, rockers!) "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." Garner native Jeremy Woodard (pictured) will be part of the ensemble performing Whitesnake's monster smash
"Here I Go Again
."

Woodard is a cast member of "Rock of Ages,"an off-Broadway musical that purports to be awesome. With songs from groups as diverse as Mr. Big, Warrant and Poison, I have no reason to doubt this claim.
