Greater Neuse wrestling race going down to the wire
Submitted by dclaybest on 01/27/2009 - 02:00West Johnston, East Wake and Holly Springs are all tied in the loss column for the lead in the Greater Neuse River 4-A Conference dual season race entering this week's matches. All three teams have one loss on the season, all to each other.
The Wildcats will host Smithfield-Selma on Tuesday and takes on Southeast Raleigh in Raleigh on Wednesday night.
All three teams — West, East Wake and Holly Springs — will get bids to next week's state dual tournament if they win out since the top-three finishers receive playoff bids.
West Johnston vs. Garner basketball games moved to Friday
Submitted by dclaybest on 01/22/2009 - 15:15Tonight's previously scheduled prep basketball games between West Johnston and Garner have been moved to tomorrow (Friday) night. All four games (two junior varsity, two varsity) will be played at Garner, beginning at 4 p.m. Varsity play should begin around 6:30 p.m.

So if winning is your thing — and I suggest that it should be — DVR tonight's Friday night's (sorry, rockers!) "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." Garner native Jeremy Woodard (pictured) will be part of the ensemble performing Whitesnake's monster smash
"Here I Go Again."
Woodard is a cast member of "Rock of Ages,"an off-Broadway musical that purports to be awesome. With songs from groups as diverse as Mr. Big, Warrant and Poison, I have no reason to doubt this claim.
