"American Idol" lowers age limit

"American Idol" is apparently looking to cash in on the Justin-Bieberization of popular music, lowering its age limit from 16 to 15.

The show previously had a 16-28 age limit. The show's producers explained that they are missing out on a lot of younger talent looking for representation before the age of 16.

The first (and closest) auditions are in Nashville, TN, on July 17. So start prepping and primping your children now. If they can't wait for 15, there's always the "Toddlers and Tiaras" show on TLC.

Wake Forest farmer/chef storms out of "Hell's Kitchen"

Andrew Forster, a farmer/chef living in Wake Forest, was a contestant on the current season of "Hell's Kitchen" on Fox. That is, until Andrew got angry and stormed off the show earlier this week.

"Hell's Kitchen" is Chef Gordon Ramsay's reality competition cooking show, and if Ramsay is known for anything, it's screaming and cursing at his charges. Remarkably, Andrew never bothered to watch the show (now in its seventh season) before agreeing to appear, and once he got there, he decided pretty quickly he didn't like being yelled at.

A look at Fox's fall TV schedule

Fox is saying goodbye to both Jack Bauer and Simon Cowell this year, two entities that helped establish them as a television powerhouse. The network doesn't appear to be too worried about it, though...

Fox still has the huge hit "Glee," and also "House," "The Simpsons," "Bones," and "Fringe." Plus, they're adding seven new series.

Here's the breakdown (new shows in bold):

"House" season finale: Are Huddy fans happy now?

Last night's season finale of "House" centered around a pretty tough medical case: House trying to save a young woman crushed by a collapsed crane, while at the same time trying to save her leg. And if House knows anything (apart from manipulating people), it's living with a bum leg.

Let's just say the case didn't end well, and the end of the episode had our angsty doc ripping his medicine cabinet off the wall to get to his hidden stash of pain killers. (If you recall, last season's finale had House in his bathroom tripping out on a Vicodin high, hallucinating a make-out session with Cuddy, and then checking himself into a mental institution for rehab).

Canceled: "The Wanda Sykes Show"

Fox canceled its seriously under-performing "Wanda Sykes Show" today.

The show disappointed from the start both critically and in ratings. It aired on Saturday nights at 11pm.

Wanda Sykes won an Emmy for her writing on "The Chris Rock Show" and she was a regular scene-stealer in HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm." She also had a sitcom on Fox in 2003 called "Wanda At Large," but it was canceled pretty quickly.

Let's hope she continues her run on "The New Adventures of Old Christine," because she's consistently the best part of that show.

Miss the end of "Glee" (again) because of "Idol" overrun?

It has now happened three weeks in a row: those taping "Glee" likely missed the last few minutes of the episode because "American Idol" is incapable of ending their show on time.

I know, I know. We can tape the show after "Glee" to make sure we catch everything, but we shouldn't have to do that. There are already way too many good shows on Tuesdays at 10 for me to give up taping one of them to make up for Fox's ineptitude.

So if you missed the ending last night (like me), you missed guest star Kristin Chenoweth performing the song, "Home."

You can watch it below.

Rumored cancelation of "24" is confirmed

The word has been on the street for a couple of weeks now, but confirmation came last night: "24" is canceled.

The current season will be the show's last, and it ends May 24.

The show's star, Keifer Sutherland, told Variety: “For us, creatively, it seemed like the right time to do it. It’s very bittersweet. ‘24’ was the greatest learning experience of my career so far. And on a personal level, working with this cast and crew and writers, these will be friends of mine for the rest of my life.”

Audition for a guest spot on "Glee"

Okay, Gleeks. If you can sing and dance, you have a shot at being a guest star on Fox's hit show, "Glee."

All you have to do is make a three-minute video explaining why you should be on "Glee," and also sing a bit from one of the "Glee"-approved songs ("Ain't We Got Fun," "Danny Boy," or "Take Me Out to the Ballgame"). Yes, you have to sing one of those songs, and if you make the cut, you'll get another approved song to sing.

You must be between the ages of 16 and 26 and live in the Fox 50 viewing area, and you can submit your audition (online submissions only!) until 11:59pm on April 6.

You might want to adopt the "Sons of Tucson"

If were a fan of the WB's short-lived "Reaper" and especially of the character Sock, you might want to check out "Sons of Tucson" (Fox, 9:30 tonight).

Tyler Lapine, who played Sock, pretty much plays the same manic, snarky lovable loser in his part as Ron Snuffkin, a man living in his car and working at a sports store, who gets hired by three kids to pose as their father, because their wealthy banker father is in prison (mom's long gone).

The deal starts out as a one-day arrangement to get them into school, but  three school-age boys, even ones whose father has left them in a 3000-square-foot house and with plenty of stolen money, need an adult around.

Canceled: Looks like time is up for "24"

There has been no official announcement from Fox, but numerous sources are reporting that the network is canceling "24" after the end of this season.

Ratings for the Keifer Sutherland-driven show have been dropping while production costs have risen. Plus, critics have pretty widely panned the current season's story lines. There are also reports that Fox is shopping the franchise to other networks, but honestly, who wants to pay big bucks for a dying, eight-year-old show. There are plans, however, for a film version of "24."

Do you think it's time for "24" to go away for good?
