What to Watch on Friday: Wait wait ... don't bug Shrek at Christmas!

Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me! (8pm, BBC America) - For the first time, the popular NPR news quiz radio show hits television with a panel of American and British guests. Guests include Paula Poundstone, Alonzo Bodden and Phill Jupitus. Neil Gaiman participates in the "Not My Job" segment. Hosted by Peter Sagal and judged by Carl Kasell.

Shrek the Halls (8pm, ABC) - Shrek, Fiona and the kids try to celebrate the holidays as a family, but visits by Donkey, Puss in Boots, and the Gingerbread Man make their cozy gathering chaotic. Voices of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, and Antonio Banderas. "Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation" airs after this at 8:30, "Prep & Landing 2: Naughty vs. Nice" airs at 9, and "Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special" is on at 9:30.

Olive the Other Reindeer (8pm, CW) - In this 1999 animated tale, a dog sets out for the North Pole believing she's the reindeer Santa needs to sub for an injured Blitzen. Features voices of Drew Barrymore and Ed Asner.

Chuck (8pm, NBC) - The holiday season turns frosty when past secrets and old threats haunt Chuck and Sarah while they hunt for an evil schemer who is trying to destroy Carmichael Industries. Comic book creator Stan Lee guest stars.

Gold Rush (9pm, Discovery) - A behind the scenes look at the series following folks in search of treasure. Followed by a new episode of "Flying Wild Alaska." If you like these shows, check out today's dvd giveaway!

20/20 (10pm, ABC) - Barbara Walters makes a Christmas visit to the White House.

Today's giveaway takes you north to Alaska -- and closer to Santa's  workshop?

We have first season DVD sets of "Flying Wild Alaska" and "Gold Rush Alaska," both shows currently airing on the Discovery Channel.

"Flying Wild Alaska" follows Jim Tweto as he battles the elements to keep his family-run Era Alaska business on track. "Gold Rush Alaska" follows Todd Hoffman as he leads a group of greenhorn miners into Alaska in search of gold. New episodes of "Gold Rush Alaska" and "Flying Wild Alaska" both air tonight at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., respectively.

The winner gets both sets, but you can't win if you don't play. So send me an email by midnight tonight and you'll be entered in the drawing.

What to Watch on Friday: Elf on Shelf shares his story

Hoops & Yoyo Ruin Christmas (8pm, CBS) - I don't know who these people are, but CBS writes about them as if I should. So. Hoops and Yoyo accidentally become stowaways on Santa's sleigh and slip through a wormhole that transports them back in time with a young Kris Kringle, and their journey threatens to disrupt Kris' destiny to become Santa Claus.

The Elf on the Shelf: An Elf's Story (8:30pm, CBS) - This fellow I've heard of. A scout elf (left) who helps Santa determine who is naughty or nice is assigned to help a boy who's struggling to believe in the magic of Christmas.

All on the Line (9:30pm, Sundance) - In the second season premiere, designer Angelo Lambrou, known for his wedding and couture work, gets help with his ready-to-wear line.

Flying Wild Alaska (10pm, Discovery) - The Iditarod dog sled race benefits Era Alaska, and Ayla, Ariel, and Ferno run with reindeer in Anchorage.

Sanctuary (10pm, Syfy) - An Abnormal's attack on Abby leaves her requiring treatment at the Sanctuary while Henry and her FBI partner Gavin retrace her steps to determine what happened.

What to Watch on Friday: We appreciate 'Women Who Rock'

A Gifted Man (8pm, CBS) - Rita and her husband (Tom Wopat) want Michael to operate on their son after he gets injured in a motorcycle accident on Thanksgiving.

Nikita (8pm, CW) - Nikita steals Oversight money to force a meeting where she and Birkhoff can identify its members, but Birkhoff is captured and tortured when he refuses to reveal where Nikita is hiding.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - Monroe goes undercover to get a whiff of a hypnotic suspect for Nick, and a stranger seeks revenge for the death of a friend who was killed by a Grimm.

Women Who Rock (10pm, UNC-TV) - A documentary that charts the female influence on rock and roll, from its blues roots in the 1920s and 1930s to the present pop scene, which is ruled to a large extent by women. Hosted by Cyndi Lauper, the special includes: Bessie Smith; Ma Rainey; Mother Maybelle Carter; Mahalia Jackson; Darlene Love; Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson; Bonnie RaittWanda Jackson; Mavis Staples; and Blondie's Deborah Harry.

Blue Bloods (10pm, CBS) - Henry suffers a heart attack the day before Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, Danny investigates a young woman's suicide that may have been forced, and Frank and the mayor clash over a threat to the city.

Flying Wild Alaska (10pm, Discovery) - Jim faces a risky landing on a frozen river while Luke has problems getting his plane to take off, and a pilot carries vaccines to Russia's border (remember, it's close).
