What to Watch on Friday: 'Dateline' examines Fort Bragg murder

Flashpoint (8pm, CBS) - A new recruit joins the team on Valentine's Day, which is notorious for hostage and suicide sitations.

Dateline (9pm, NBC) - In the second hour of this two-hour "Dateline," Keith Morrison explores the murder of Fort Bragg Army Special Operations officer David Shannon in Fayetteville in 2002.

Karaoke Battle USA (9pm, NBC) - The series premiere of a reality competition in which karaoke singers from across the nation compete to win a recording contract and a shot at the Karaoke World Championships. Tonight, contestants compete at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.

Whale Wars (9pm, Animal Planet) - In the Season 4 finale, Watson claims a major victory after 30 years of fighting, while he and the crew reaffirm their commitment to stopping the whaling fleet. At 10, Lisa Ling interviews Paul Watson and the other Sea Shepherds about the success of their 2010-11 campaign.

Strike Back (10pm, Cinemax) - A new series about an ex-Delta Force operative, Damien Scott, who teams up with a British antiterrorist unit to track down an international criminal. In the first episode, British sergeant Michael Stonebridge recruits help from Scott when an agent is kidnapped by a Pakistani terrorist. The two then uncover clues to a possible terrorist attack at a New  Delhi hotel and race to foil it.

Haven (10pm, Syfy) - A wedding at an isolated estate turns deadly for the guests when the site becomes sealed off and something attacks from within.

What to Watch on Friday: 'Sex Change Hospital' comes to DFH

Flashpoint (8pm, CBS) - A mother and daughter are abducted, and the search to find them results in the revelation of a dark family secret.

Whale Wars (9pm, Animal Planet) - The Bob Barker and Gojira attack and disable the harpoon ship that has been trailing them. Later, the Barker continues to hunt for the Nisshin Maru.

Sex Change Hospital (10pm, Discovery Fit & Health) - This 6-part series, which first aired in the U.K., follows patients undergoing sexual-reassignment surgery at a hospital in Colorado under the guidance of Dr. Marci Bowers (formerly Mark Bowers). Tonight, male-to-female transsexual with two children prepares for breast augmentation surgery and genital-reassignment surgery. Also, a patient who used drugs as a coping mechanism undergoes a hysterectomy.

Invitation Only (10pm, CMT) - Jason Aldean performs and answers fans' questions. Songs include "Big Green Tractor," "My Kinda Party," and "Dirt Road Anthem."

Haven (10pm, Syfy) - The town's docks start attacking people while the other Audrey Parker probes Audrey's identity crisis.

American Restoration (10pm, History) - Tonight, a 1950s bumper car and a 1960s coin-operated motorcycle.

What to Watch on Friday: Colbie Caillat judges on 'Platinum Hit'

Platinum Hit (8pm, Bravo) - The five remaining songwriters work with one of Jewel's favorite lyrics, and singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat (left) is the guest judge.

Flashpoint (8pm, CBS) - A serial robber who broadcasts his heists on the internet is hunted.

Friday Night Lights - That's over, people. Sorry. But if you haven't read Grantland.com's oral history of the show, do that now.

Whale Wars (9pm, Animal Planet) - The exhausted Shepherds wrap up the initial leg of their campaign, and the Steve Irwin is tipped off to the location of the Nisshin Maru.

Haven (10pm, Syfy) - The residents of Haven have their worst fears come to life while Nathan's "trouble" seems to vanish.

Rhett & Link: Commercial Kings (10pm, IFC) - The Fuquay-Varina duo work on a commercial for a professional wrestler.

The Best Thing I Ever Ate (10:30pm, Food) - Food Network stars, including Alton Brown and Duff Goldman, discuss their favorite ice creams.

What to Watch on Friday: Coach Taylor mulls suspension for Vince

Friday Night Lights (8pm, NBC) - Coach Taylor considers suspending Vince, and the possibility of becoming quarterback weighs on Luke. Also, Billy receives some unexpected news from Mindy, and Becky gets a new job (please don't be at The Landing Strip. Okay, you know it's gonna be at The Landing Strip.).

Flashpoint (8pm, CBS) - The team members turn on one another during a brutal requalification exam conducted by a military psychologist. Meanwhile, Ed is shot on the way to the hospital to attend the birth of his child.

Flea Man (8pm, National Geographic Channel) - In the series premiere, host Jimmy Kaplow helps a family from Long Beach raise money for their daughter's tuition by showing them how to sell at a local flea market some antiques they inherited. He also butts heads with an estate-sale addict over the value of vintage costume jewelry. A second episode follows at 9.

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution (9pm, ABC) - Jamie gets a break when he's given the chance to work with another school district, but before long, he's faced with another big obstacle. Also, Jamie Lee Curtis presents him with an award from the UCLA School of Public Health, and he tours an organic school garden in Santa Barbara.

Whale Wars (9pm, Animal Planet) - The Shepherds think they've located the Nisshin Maru on the radar. Meanwhile, the Gojira helps the Steve Irwin elude a harpoon ship.

What to Watch on Friday: Galifianakis on 'Real Time with Bill Maher'

Supernatural (8pm, CW) - Two back-to-back episodes close out the sixth season tonight. In the finale, the memory-blocking wall inside of Sam's head that keeps his darkest memories from him comes crashing down and he struggles to deal with the consequences.

Friday Night Lights (8pm, NBC) - Coach Taylor is praised in a popular magazine, a figure from Vince's past makes a demand, Luke digests the news about TMU, and Julie's return to college is delayed.

Flashpoint (8pm, CBS) - Mike fears his former mentor may be implicated in a case that involves corruption, drug dealers and an attempted gang execution.

Real Time with Bill Maher (10pm, HBO) - Amy Chua and Zach Galifianakis are the interview guests tonight. Last time Galifianakis was on the show, he made headlines when he lit up and smoked a joint to illustrate his point about the legalization of marijuana. He also discussed his uncle Nick Galifianakis' failed senate run against Jesse Helms. I'm sure he's on tonight to promote 'Hangover 2,' but with him, you never know what else might come up. Other guests include author Reza Aslan, commentator Dylan Ratigan, and journalist Gillian Tett.  

20/20 (10pm, ABC) - A report on infomercials and the "as seen on TV" products they promote. Includes interviews with celebrity product spokespersons and infomercial entrepreneur A.J. Khubani.

What to Watch on Friday: "20/20" examines Fayetteville's Hennis murder case

Blood Dolphin (9pm, Animal Planet) - In the Solomon Islands, Ric and Lincoln investigate an allegedly reformed dolphin dealer as they continue their discussions with the natives involved in dolphin hunting.

20/20 (10pm, ABC) - "20/20" examines the 1985 murder of US Air Force wife Kathryn Eastburn and her two young daughters in Fayetteville. MSgt Timothy Hennis was convicted of the murder in 1986 but the conviction was overturned and Hennis was acquited in a second trial in 1989. Then, the emergence of DNA evidence brought the case back to military court. The show includes interviews with Eastburn's father and her surviving daughter, local journalists, and one of Hennis's lawyers.

Flashpoint (10pm, CBS) - The SRU's actions are called into question after the team responds to a shooting at a museum gala. The lead investigator focuses her probe on Parker in particular.

Haven (10pm, Syfy) - Duke helps Audrey investigate the Colorado Kid case. Also, Nathan and Audrey track a killer loose in Haven, but they find a woman at each crime scene who claims to be trying to prevent the deaths she has foreseen.

Real Time with Bill Maher (10pm, HBO) - Bill Maher returns from hiatus to resume his eighth season with guests Jon Hamm, Mark McKinnon, Martha Raddatz, Michael Moore, and Robert Reich. I love any excuse to post a picture of Jon Hamm (left).

What to Watch on Friday: A "Flashpoint" clash with gun runners

Monk (9am, Sleuth) - There's a "Monk" marathon on the Sleuth Channel today from 9am until 2am.

Man, Woman, Wild (9pm, Discovery) - Myke and Ruth turn on up the shores of Aitutaki, a rat-infested desert island amid the Cook Islands in the South Pacific Ocean.

2010 Essence Music Festival (9pm, TV One) - In case you missed it last weekend, TV One repeats it tonight. Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, and Gladys Knight.

Flashpoint (10pm, CBS) - The SRU team members encounter gun runners, one of whom is Ed's brother, when they investigate shots fired in an upscale neighborhood.

Wild Caught: The Life and Struggles of an American Fishing Town (10pm, UNC-TV) - Greensboro filmmaker Matt Barr's documentary on the struggles of small-time fishermen in the North Carolina village of Snead's Ferry.

How Do They Do It? (10pm, Science) - How do they make decaffeinated coffee? Water-powered ships? Smoked fish?

What to Watch on Friday: Renewed "Eureka" can't turn to stone

Coastwatch (8pm, Planet Green) - Paua poachers are targeted along the coast during a two-day crackdown dubbed "Operation Iris."

3:10 to Yuma (8pm, TNT) - If you haven't seen this 2007 remake of the 1957 classic, tune in. A poor rancher (Christian Bale) escorts an outlaw (Russell Crowe) to meet up with law enforcement while the outlaw's henchmen try to head them off and rescue their leader.

Eureka (9pm, Syfy) - Tensions peak between Carter and Grant over Allison, Henry woos his own wife, and Zoe deals with a secret love while something begins turning the townfolk to stone. Syfy announced this week that it has renewed "Eureka" for a fifth season.

Whale Wars (9pm, Animal Planet) - The Sea Shepherd employs a new strategy in their campaign against the Japanese whalers.

Flashpoint (10pm, CBS) - A high school athlete threatens to commit suicide after he is kidnapped and beaten.

What to Watch on Friday: Coach Taylor benches Luke on FNL

Friday Night Lights (8pm, NBC) - Coach Taylor decides to bench Luke (Matt Lauria) for the game against the Panthers while Tami tries to pacify her angry critics. Next week is the season finale.

Whale Wars (9pm, Animal Planet) - In need of repairs and supplies, the Sea Shepherds suspend their hunt for the Japanese fleet but run into two huge storms on the way back to port.

Haven (10pm, Syfy) - Audrey probes her roots after she sees an old photo in the local newspaper who could be her mother. Also, Audrey and Nathan investigate an epidemic that threatens the towns livestock and fields.

Flashpoint (10pm, CBS) - Parker is lured into a deadly trap and is told he must either reveal a disturbing secret from his past or be killed. It sounds like one nasty game of Truth or Dare.

What to Watch on Friday: July 4th celebration at Ford's Theatre

Friday Night Lights (8pm, NBC) - Coach Taylor mingles with those on the less fortunate side of town when he puts together a fundraiser to fix the lights in Carroll Park. Also, Becky gets some potentially life-changing news.

America Celebrates July 4th at Ford's Theater (9pm, ABC) - At this special taped earlier in June and hosted by Ty Burrell ("Modern Family"), President Obama presents African Archbishop Desmond Tutu and South African Constitutional Court Justice Albie Sachs with the theater's Lincoln Medal. The medal "exemplifies the particular focus, dedication and generosity of spirit" of President Abraham Lincoln. Dick Van Dyke, Kelly Clarkson, and Lionel Richie perform, as well as the cast of "Mary Poppins" and the Soldier's Chorus of the United States Army Field Band.

Merlin (10pm, Syfy) - In the Season 2 finale, the freed dragon attacks Camelot with a fury that cannot be defeated except by a dragonlord, all but one of whom where killed years earlier at Uther's behest. Isn't that always the way... So, Merlin and Arthur set out to find the last dragonlord (John Lynch).

Miami Medical (10pm, CBS) - In the series finale, Proctor and Zambrano each question their ethical boundaries when faced with difficult decisions concerning the lives of their patients. Also, Deleo's brother unexpectedly reappears.
