Reminder: FashionSPARK tonight

I've spent the better part of the day watching the runway for tonight's FashionSPARK fashion show being built on the 200 block of Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh. A big production, to be sure, with bleachers, big lights and a stage.

Local music fans will love it, too, because all 15 designers have worked with local musicians to create music for their shows, making it truly a local production.

And among the many standouts in tonight's show ... Raleigh Denim, the husband-and-wife jeans company, which this week is basking in the glow of some serious national press. Did you see them on page 212 of Elle's October issue?

Get out early to get a seat! The show starts at 8 p.m. And don't forget to hit the FashionSPARK shop to buy some of the creations from the runway.

Who's in at this year's FashionSPARK

This year's show is shaping up to be another good one with 15 local designers, including several new ones, and body artists ready to put their talents on the runway on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh at 8 p.m. Sept. 18.

This year's theme: Wear What You are.

Look for hair styling and make-up by Marigold Parlour, Alter Ego, Salon Blu, Atomic and J&F Gemelli. And expect to hear locally produced music on the runway. Designers are working with MusicSPARK producers for music created by local recording artists.
