Triton, a former member of the Cape Fear Valley 3-A Conference, was
tabbed to win the Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference in a vote of the
league's coaches taken on Monday. The Hawks went 8-4 in 2008 under head
coach Joe McCullen.

Fellow former CFVC member South Johnston was picked fourth.

Fuquay-Varina, Erwin Triton and North Johnston chase softball titles.

Fuquay-Varina plays New Bern at 5 p.m. on Friday in 4-A softball playoffs.
