The love was flowing Tuesday for Rosa Gill at her last meeting as a school board member.
Gill was bestowed with awards and words of praise. Gill received several standing ovations from the audience.
A resolution passed by the board praised Gill for being a "dedicated member of the Wake County Board of Education, committed to a thoughtful process, willing to address difficult issues by involving and listening to others and unfailingly focused on the success of every child."
Enloe High School isn’t the only one whose bell schedule got tweaked today.
While Enloe's schedule was changed again to add 10 more minutes each day for the upcoming school year, six other schools needed changes as well.
Chief Academic Officer Donna Hargens said the districtwide bell schedule list the school board approved on March 31 had some errors and left out at least one school.
The school board had a pretty busy day today.
The board elected Kevin Hill as the new chairman and agreed on a procedure for soliciting applicants to fill Rosa Gill's seat.
The board trimmed $3.3 million out of the budget after getting less than requested from commissioners.

Raleigh Charter High and Enloe High are again on Newsweek's list of top 100 public high schools in America.
Raleigh Charter was ranked 33rd on Newsweek's 2009 list. Enloe was ranked 82nd on the list.
Also on the deeper list were Broughton High in 400th, Green Hope High in 649th and Wakefield High in 1,115th.

In rival rankings released in December, U.S. News & World Report had also placed Raleigh Charter in its top 100 list for 2009. Raleigh Charter was 20th on that list.
Enloe High School's bell schedule will change again and it could impact other schools in the process.
While the details are still being finalized, Enloe is expected to add another 10 minutes to the school day for the 2009-10 school year. This comes on top of the 10 minutes that the school board had agreed to add to Enloe's day as part of the districtwide bell schedule changes for this fall.
The new Enloe change creates additional transportation challenges.
It doesn't look like every school wants to take part in the extra early release days this fall.
Enloe High School has asked the school board for a waiver from the six Wednesday early release days, when classes would end 2 1/2 hours early. They're not asking for a waiver from the weekly one-hour early dismissals on Wednesdays.
The school board is expected to discuss the issue on Tuesday.

Wake released data on Tuesday showing a majority of applicants were placed at magnet and calendar schools this year.
But the district changed the way it reported the data. You decide which way is better. (Go to the end of the post for school-by-school data.)
In past years, it was a simple acceptance and rejection rate. This year, Wake reported a placement rate instead.
Here are some answers as to why you haven't found about your magnet/calendar application yet and why some people are being offered another chance to apply.
Wake began a new effort this year to look at the rejected applications to see if they wanted to offer any of these people a "second chance" to apply to a different school. For instance, David Ansbacher, senior director for magnet programs, said a student who didn't get into Enloe High might be told they could apply to Southeast Raleigh High.
But this created problems that have delayed sending out notices to 1,640 students.
