Friday night updates. East Wake stuns No. 1 Wake Forest-Rolesville in OT with fake field goal. Fuquay nips Clayton in OT. West Johnston out-scores South Johnston. Wakefield out-scores Holly Springs in a scoring battle.

Upon further review, SSS left out of 4-A girls soccer playoffs; Enloe in

Smithfield-Selma will not advance to the NCHSAA 4-A girls soccer playoffs after a closer look at the wild card race by the NCHSAA. The Spartans and Enloe (8-8-1) both finished at .500 and went into a draw for the final wild card playoff spot late Monday afternoon. The draw went Enloe's way and the Eagles will meet Wilmington Hoggard in a first-round match-up.

Smithfield-Selma finishes its season with a 10-10 record.

Millbrook 21, Enloe 20

RALEIGH -- Millbrook linebacker Chad Gray single handedly stopped Enloe’s upset hopes Friday night.

After the Eagles cut the deficit to one on a three-yard touchdown run by Jonathan Addison with 8:59 left in the fourth, Gray busted through the line on the extra point, blocking the kick and securing a 21-20 win for the Wildcats.

Friday Night football updates

Wake Forest-Rolesville tops Leesville Road 20-14 in overtime. Marcus Jones runs six yards for the winning score. Leesville had fumbled on its overtime possession.  Wake Forest, Wakefield and Leesville Road all finish 5-1 in the Cap 8.(FINAL)

No. 1-ranked Durham Hillside defeated Northern Durham 38-6 to finish the regular season 11-0 and claim the Piedmont Athletic 4-A championship. QB Vad Lee rushed for 138 yards and passes for 161. (FINAL)

Panther Creek got a 25-yard field goal from Garrett Lang in the final minutes to defeat Cary 10-7 and clinch the Tri-Nine's No. 1 seed into the playoffs.

Clayton 38, Smithfield-Selma 6 (FINAL) (Clayton coach Gary Fowler notches his 200th win. He is 200-11-1 in his career, all at Clayton. Comets grab No. 3 berth from Greater Neuse No. 3 berth)

Fuquay-Varina 31, Lee County 10 (FINAL). Bengals finish 10-1, share Tri-Nine title.

Broughton 58, Enloe 6

RALEIGH - Broughton quarterback Will Cooper passed for six touchdowns and Chris Mangus ran for 302 yards and two touchdowns as the Capitals crushed Enloe 58-6 on Friday night at home.

BHS grabbed momentum early and wouldn't let go, scoring 45 unanswered points in the route.

 

Leesville Road 42, Enloe 9

Leesville Road scored on all three phases of the game Friday night at home against Enloe and was able to grab momentum while piling up a four-touchdown lead in the first half in the Cap 7 opener for both teams.

The Pride scored on the first play of the ball game and it was indicative of how the night would go for Leesville, which cruised to a 42-9 win over the Eagles to start 1-0 in conference play.

Durham Jordan 28, Enloe 8

With lots of misdirection, fake handoffs and play-action passes, Enloe’s Double Wing attack is a test of a defense’s patience and will. Friday night, Jordan passed that test with flying colors.

The Falcons front seven read its keys, dominated the line of scrimmage and ran away with a 28-8 win at home.
