What to Watch on Monday: 'Fear Factor' returns grosser than ever

Fear Factor (8pm, NBC) - In a desperate attempt to recapture the tiniest bit of an era when they weren't perpetually in last place, NBC has resurrected their roach-eating reality show of dares. They've even brought back the original "Fear Factor" host, an inked-up Joe Rogan (right). Two new back-to-back episodes tonight. In the first, contestants must eat five scorpions, get strapped to the front of a cement mixer, and hop onto the back of a truck that is heading toward an explosive collision with a barrier.

I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown (8pm, ABC) - Linus and Lucy's little brother ReRun spends the holidays hanging with Snoopy and his brother Spike. Not the best Peanuts cartoon, but still about a hundred times better than "Fear Factor."

Stephen King's Bag of Bones (9pm, A&E) - The conclusion of the two-part movie about a novelist (Pierce Brosnan) grieving the loss of his wife. The man spends time at a lakeside home where he befriends a widow and her daughter and is visited by the ghost of a blues singer. If you missed the first part last night, it repeats tonight at 7.

The Closer (9pm, TNT) - A man is murdered while under FBI surveillance, stirring up friction between the federal agents and the LAPD. Meanwhile, Brenda's parents arrive for the holidays with some surprising news.

Enlightened (9:30pm, HBO) - In the first season finale, Amy finally persuades Levi to seek treatment after a breakdown in the middle of the night. At work, Amy defies Dougie to make a presentation to Damon's group, no matter the outcome, and she finds an unlikely ally to change the environment at Abaddonn.

Rock Center with Brian Williams (10pm, NBC) - Correspondent Chelsea Clinton makes her TV correspondent debut tonight with a profile of the founder of a mentoring program for school children in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Hawaii Five-0 (10pm, CBS) - Teens discover a body in an abandoned World War II bunker, and Chin Ho and Malia get married.

What to Watch on Monday: 'Bored to Death' finale, 'The Closer' returns

The Sing-off (8pm, NBC) - The winner of the $200,000 prize and a recording contract is announced in the third season finale.

Terra Nova (8pm, Fox) - Zoe faces a tough choice concerning the dinosaur she's been caring for.

Bored to Death (9pm, HBO) - In the Season 3 finale, George celebrates Emily and Bernard's wedding, and Ray is comforted by his son, Spencer. Meanwhile, Jonathan considers breaking up with his new girlfriend, but when he's kidnapped, an army of Super Ray fans spring into action.

The Closer (9pm, TNT) - The second half of the final season resumes tonight as Brenda and her squad investigate the shooting death of a high school principal whose school is entangled in a scandal.

Enlightened (9:30pm, HBO) - Amy is reported to HR for unsatisfactory performance related to personality clashes in the department, so she appeals to Krista to speak to Damon about finding another position.

Rizzoli & Isles (10pm, TNT) - Also back for the second half of their season, Jane and Maura investigate the shooting of a community activist. Before long, a witness emerges to testify against a notorious gang member and TV host Bill O'Reilly (playing himself) arrives and voices on-air disapproval of the police department.

What to Watch on Monday: Conclusion of Woody Allen documentary

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC) - The final week of performances for the season includes a freestyle number.

How I Met Your Mother (8pm, CBS) - Ted and Barney make a life-altering decision, and Robin tries to talk Lily and Marshall out of moving to Long Island.

Enlightened (9:30pm, HBO) - A bad dream helps Amy face her feelings for Levi, but she also bonds with Tyler over loneliness issues after Dougie gets a promotion and Amy tries to set him up on a date with Krista's coworker.

Woody Allen: A Documentary (10pm, UNC-TV) - The conclusion of Robert Weide's profile of Woody Allen, which chronicles Allen's career from his days writing for Sid Caesar in the 1950s to present. The film features footage of him at home and on movie sets and includes a tour of his childhood haunts in Brooklyn. Also, remarks Diane Keaton, Martin Landau, Sean Penn, Chris Rock, John Cuzack, Larry David, Scarlett Johansson, Mariel Hemingway and others.

Hawaii Five-0 (10pm, CBS) - McGarrett goes to North Korea with Jenna Kaye to deliverf a ransom to rebels who are holding her fiance hostage. Meanwhile, Five-0 investigates the murder of an investigative reporter with ties to Jenna. Jimmy Buffett guest stars.

Castle (10pm, ABC) - A sniper goes on a murder rampage in the city and police struggle to find a motive before time runs out and another victim is killed. Also, Beckett's PTSD symptoms escalate, but she attempts to hide them from the team.

What to Watch on Monday: Broadway and Chenoweth on DWTS

How I Met Your Mother (8pm, CBS) - The gang realizes that their significant others remeind them of their parents. Also, Barney and Nora's romantic night is plagued by mishaps.

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC) - For week six, the contestants dance to Broadway songs. Kristen Chenoweth performs.

Heart of Dixie (9pm, CW) - Zoe exposes a scandal when she discovers a secret involving a local minister and his wife.

Bored to Death (9pm, HBO) - Already nervous about his appearance on "The New Dick Cavett Show," Jonathan is thrown for a loop when another scheduled guest happens to be his nemesis, Louis Greene (John Hodgman). Meanwhile, Ray's attentiveness as a father is tested.

Enlightened (9:30pm, HBO) - Disgusted with her new surroundings at Abbaddonn, Amy gets excited about the prospect of making a difference with a job at a homeless shelter, but an unexpected bill from her hiatus at the treatment center makes her think again.

A Night at the Movies (9:30pm, TCM) - Stephen King talks about how movies such as "Freaks," "Cat People," Night of the Living Dead," and "Jaws" have affected his writing.

Castle (10pm, ABC) - Castle and Beckett investigate the homicide of a popular ghost hunter who was killed while probing paranormal activity at a famous mansion.

What to Watch on Monday: 'Sing-Off' guilty pleasures

The Sing-Off (8pm, NBC) - The 10 remaining groups perform guilty-pleasure songs before two acts are eliminated.

Terra Nova (8pm, Fox) - A "Sixer" girl seeks asylum in Terra Nova. Taylor suspects there's at traitor in the ranks and Mira schemes to reclaim a possession.

2 Broke Girls (8:30pm, CBS) - Max and Caroline throw a '90s-themed party at the diner to raise money for their cupcake business, but Caroline is horrified when her rich ex-boyfriend attends the party.

Bored to Death (9pm, HBO) - On the run from police, Jonathan and Ray turn to Howard (Patton Oswalt) for help with trying to find out who framed Jonathan for murder, while George runs interference for them in his own inimitable, marijuana-induced way.

Enlightened (9:30pm, HBO) - Despite being banished to a dead-end job in the basement of Abaddonn, Amy tries to impress a human resources representative with evidence that the company needs to redefine its mission. Elsewhere, Amy seeks to convince Levi to change his ways.

Castle (10pm, ABC) - An insurance investigator assists Castle and Beckett with a homicide case stemming from the theft of a costly sculpture, and a museum benefactor becomes one of the murder suspects.

Hawaii Five-0 (10pm, CBS) - The Five-0 investigates the murder of a volleyball coach and the probe leads the team to discover more bad news about Kono and her ongoing legal problems.

What to Watch on Monday: HBO wants you 'Bored' but "Enlightened'

How I Met Your Mother (8pm, CBS) - Ted takes his class out on a field trip, but it ends badly. Also, Marshall thinks his boss is too weak in a settlement with a million-dollar company, and he decides to take action.

Terra Nova (8pm, Fox) - Radio silence at a nearby scientific outpost prompts an investigation that reveals the outbreak of a deadly virus that causes memory loss and paranoia -- and which poses a risk to Terra Nova.

Bored to Death (9pm, HBO) - In the Season 3 premiere, Jonathan (Jason Schwartzman) marks the release of his new book but must process some alarming family news. Meanwhile, George (Ted Danson) is reunited with his daughter and meets her new boyfriend, and Ray (Zach Galifianakis) spends a day with his biological son.

Enlightened (9:30pm, HBO) - In the series premiere, a corporate executive (Laura Dern, left) suffers a public breakdown at work but hopes to get her job back after reinventing herself at a mental-health retreat. Unfortunately, her transformation doesn't go over well with her loved ones and coworkers, who don't always share her new outlook on life. Also stars Luke Wilson (left) and Diane Ladd. House (9pm, Fox) - House returns to the hospital -- with conditions -- after his stint in prison, and gets a cold reception from Wilson. There's also a new doctor on the diagnostic team: a bright but shy resident played by Charlyne Yi.

Hart of Dixie (9pm, CW) - Zoe enters a gumbo contest in yet another attempt to prove she can fit in as a Bluebell resident. Meanwhile, Zoe and Brick must look past their differences to save someone's life.

Five (9pm, Lifetime) - An anthology of five short films exploring the impact of breast cancer on the lives of women diagnosed and their loved ones. Featured: Rosario Dawson, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Jeanne Tripplehorn. Directors include Jennifer Anniston, Demi Moore, and Alicia Keys. Check out Adrienne's review.
