Four Cary wrestlers in final USA Rankings

The final USA Rankings are in, and four Cary grapplers are among those named.

Sophomore Ben Creed and graduating senior Eloheim Palma have been ranked on the All-Class rankings, while junior Matt Colvard and graduating senior Gabe Brotzman — along with Creed and Palma — have been ranked in their graduating classes.

Colvard has the unusual distinction of being ranked in the top 30 in both the 145 and 160 classes, as he had been in both classes before the season and during the year.

Colvard was ranked 30th in the 160-pound class and 28th in the 145-pound class.

Creed, a two-time state champion, was ranked 21st in the 103-pound class.

Brotzman was a special mention in the 152-pound class and Palma was No. 1 in the heavyweight division after securing the national title this year.

Palma is currently on a fold out of the USA Wrestling Magazines All-Americans as he has been named to their “Dream Team.”
