Duke's first bowl berth in 17 years seems to be having an effect on recruiting.

It's been a busy 24 hours for the Blue Devils, as three prospects gave their pledge to join the class of 2014. That trio brings Duke to nine commits for a class that is only expected to take around 15 total prospects. At this time last year, Duke only had one commit, according to a recent Q&A in Sports Illustrated.

Duke head coach David Cutcliffe announced in a statement Wednesday that four incoming players have enrolled early and started taking classes. They are:

Parker Boehme, a three-star, dual-threat quarterback, who threw for 3,202 yards and 40 touchdowns as a junior and earned all-state recognition. His senior season was cut short due to a toe injury. Boehme, who measures 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, hails from Jacksonville, Fla., and attended Sandalwood high school.

Defensive back Evrett Edwards is a three-star recruit from Woodbridge, Va. The 5-foot-11, 175 pound Edwards also played wide receiver in high school and posted career totals of 107 tackles, 10 interceptions and 21 pass breakups.

Dade Christian (Fla.) WR Terrence Alls commits to Duke

Duke picked up its 14th commitment for the class of 2013 when Dade Christian (Fla.) WR Terrence Alls committed to the Blue Devils Thursday. Blue Devil Nation first reported that the 6-foot, 162-pound receiver chose Duke over Cincinnati, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
