DURHAM—The open date was good for injured Duke quarterback Anthony Boone, whose healing from a broken collarbone in his throwing shoulder, suffered in week two against Memphis, continues to move rapidly.
“I would talk in terms of day-to-day with Anthony Boone,” head coach David Cutcliffe said. “He’s getting some work. We’re still holding him as far as any full speed work, but that hold can change, as we all know, with any medical exams. But we’re letting him practice, so he’s getting practice. He’s gotten aggressively better each week, and at this point, maybe now, a little bit every day.”
In other words, a return for the Navy game Sat. at 12:30 p.m. is in the realm of possibilities. How he feels and performs throughout this week will determine if he plays.
