GREENVILLE - East Carolina defensive back Damon Magazu intercepted Russell Wilson at the goal line this afternoon on the final play of overtime to clinch a 33-27 overtime win over N.C. State at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

Dominique Davis had scored on a 1-yard plunge on the Pirates’ opening possession of overtime, and East Carolina survived a missed extra point attempt when Magazu intercepted Wilson on a third-and-12 pass intended for Jarvis Williams at the goal line.

The Pirates (4-2) survived after taking a 21-0, first-half lead and relinquishing it.

GREENVILLE — There were no last-second heroics for East Carolina on Saturday against Memphis, no fantastic finishes or thrilling comebacks.
