Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest (10pm, ABC) - Dick Clark is essentially Mr. New Year's Eve, but Ryan Seacrest will pull most of the weight hosting their joint project. Fergie, Jennifer Lopez, and Daughtry are among the entertainers scheduled to perform.

New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin (11pm, CNN) - And bingo, we have a winner. For the thrill of pure unpredictability, this is the show to watch tonight. What's more fun than watching entertainment's biggest loudmouth completely mortify CNN's golden boy? And because of her previous New Year's on-air episode, Griffin told Craig Ferguson last week that CNN made her sign a contract in which she promised that if she uses profanity again, she has to write the check back to them. Another "$25,000 Pyramid" Might Replace Guiding Light
Submitted by adriennj on 04/01/2009 - 16:38

TV Week is reporting that among the contenders to replace "The Guiding Light" is yet another version of the classic game show "The $25,000 Pyramid."
This one would be produced by Sony and Michael Davies, the man behind "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and might be an hour long.
Sony and CBS wouldn't comment so the source for the story is "two people familiar with the situation." (That was the source for the first Guiding-Light-is-history rumor and you see how that went.)
While "Pyramid" is a contender to replace "Light," it's not CBS' only option. The network is said to be considering contenders produced in-house, including talk shows.
I liked the old Dick Clark Pyramid and Donny Osmond wasn't bad as host either. It would be interested to see if they can update the game without destroying it.
