If you are a fan of the old "Hawaii Five-0" series, you needn't be threatened by the new "Hawaii Five-0" (CBS, 10 tonight). The names are the same, and "Book 'em, Danno" is uttered (albeit in a snarky, modern way), but it's a completely different show.
Keep your memories and watch this version with an open mind. It's got plenty of action, good performances and beautiful scenery. What's not to like?
Alex O'Loughlin plays Steve McGarrett, a Navy SEAL who after the murder of his father is asked by the governor (Jean Smart) to head up a special task force. (Which kind of means he's not really even Hawaii Five-0). This McGarrett is a bit arrogant, and plays by his own rules. He likes to get tough too; if he was James Bond, he'd be Daniel Craig. Sadly he does not have Jack Lord's fabulous head of hair.

SPOILER ALERT
Juliet, Claire and David (Dylan Minnette) are walking into he concert in WITPDCAR. Juliet has to go back to the hospital, I presume. Charlie is passed out in the green room until the lovely Charlotte wakes him. "I got shot by a fat man." Daniel Farraday/Widmore (Jeremy Davies) is in the green room, too. He and Charlotte meet.
I have bogarted other people's DVR's to watch Lost. I have stayed up until 3-4 a.m. after late Duke basketball games to watch Lost.
I am undone.
Still choosing sides in this Jin & Sun special.
(Note: I counted wrong. I didn't count the premiere, parts 1 and 2, as separate episodes. So this lovely little Lost morsel goes down as episode 6.8, a.k.a. "Recon.")
I'm late on this one. So should I warn you not to read it unless you've seen the episode?
Great to watch last night's episode with my sister Gabby and my niece Hope. I'll be able to do that for the next couple of weeks while hanging out in Washington state. They're big Lost fans, too.
There are a gazillion unanswered questions going into the final season of "Lost" on ABC. I said three seasons ago I'd be happy if Lindelcuse had explained 80 percent of it by the end of the series.
