NetApp names new boss

More than 900 techies in Research Triangle Park, meet your new boss.

NetApp, the California maker of data-storage computers, today promoted Tom Georgens to CEO. He replaces Dan Warmenhoven, who ran the company for 15 years.

NetApp arrived in the Triangle in 1999 and has expanded its RTP campus over the years. More recently, the company has shed some workers as sales decline.
