Lost finale recap - The End, part 3

The last installment of Luci's 3-part "Lost" finale recap (read  part 2):

SPOILER ALERT

A taxi arrives at a church. It's Real Locke in WITPDCAR. He gets into his wheelchair. He sees Ben outside. Ben apologizes for everything. "I was selfish. Jealous. You were special, John. And I wasn't." "Ben, if it helps, I forgive you." Ben chooses to stay outside even though everyone else is inside. (A self-imposed penance perhaps?) Ben tells Locke he doesn't need the wheelchair anymore and Locke walks into the church on his own two legs.

Lost finale recap - The End, part 2

More from Luci Chavez on last night's "Lost" finale (read part 1 of recap here):

Juliet, Claire and David (Dylan Minnette) are walking into he concert in WITPDCAR. Juliet has to go back to the hospital, I presume. Charlie is passed out in the green room until the lovely Charlotte wakes him. "I got shot by a fat man." Daniel Farraday/Widmore (Jeremy Davies) is in the green room, too. He and Charlotte meet.

Outside, David and Claire sit at Table 23 with Desmond and Kate. (The producers think they're so cute.) Dr. Chang is emceeing the event. It is his museum after all. Daniel Widmore is going to jam with Drive Shaft while playing classical piano. Highly unlikely in real life because, in my mind, Drive Shaft is basically Oasis but I don't even care because there is Charlie with his bass looking just shy of sober! Yeah!!!!

"Lost" alternate endings from "Jimmy Kimmel Live"

Here are the really hilarious "alternate endings" to the "Lost" finale as presented last night on Jimmy Kimmel's special "Lost" postmortem (which was so good). Even if you don't watch "Lost," these are fantastic and you'll enjoy them, I promise.

Lost finale recap - The End, part 1

Our "Lost" recapper Luci Chavez on last night's finale. Luci will be
hosting a live chat on the finale today at the News & Observer site
at noon. Please join her!

I have bogarted other people's DVR's to watch Lost. I have stayed up until 3-4 a.m. after late Duke basketball games to watch Lost.

I have vigilantly avoided nearly all internet speculation about Lost for the past three years. I've put friends under radio silence so as to avoid spoiling one second of the best TV show ever.

Consider what a TV show needs to do to inspire that kind of devotion and
emotion every week.

Now multiply it by 150.

The payoff came Sunday night while watching the 2 1/2-hour series
finale.

The series finale of Lost was grand and epic yet achingly intimate and personal. While Lindelcuse stayed true to the show's "what the hell was that" roots with an ending left open to interpretation, it satisfied me emotionally in every way.

Special "Lost" online package

A special dispatch from "Lost" blogger Luci Chavez:

Wired magazine had a chance to sit down with "Lost" producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, which resulted in this awesome online package looking at the series.

It includes the following useful and entertaining tidbits:

-A Q&A with Lindelcuse
-The YouTube video recap of the first five seasons
-A list of the people and things that survived the Ocaenic 815 crash
-An interview with the virtual saint who runs Lostpedia
-An incredible graphic detailing how each character is linked (Oceanic survivors, visited by Richard, Other, etc.).

To keep you Lost-wise for Tuesday, here's the promo for episode 14 "The Candidate":

Was that 'Lost' death a shocker? Nah.

The only deaths on ABC's Lost that will shock me are Kate's, Jack's or Sawyer's. There's no way any of them can die and the show still retain its heat. (My opinion.) Locke would have been in that category but, not long after we found out he died, we already knew he'd been ressurected.

Well, the producers felt offing one of the other primary characters on Wednesday was pretty shocking. Nah, I'm thinking it was just time they killed someone off. Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof explained their thinking to TV Guide in time for Wednesday's episode. SPOILER ALERT.

Vote for 'Lost' finale code name

The Lost producers, a.k.a. Lost boys Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, are calling all fans to come up with the secret code name for the season 5 finale, slated for May 13 on ABC. TVGuide had the original scoop.

The producers, a.k.a. Darlton to aficionados, revealed their top 13 in the March 26 Lost audio podcast. (They talk about episode 11 so beware of SPOILERS.)

Still time to vote. Here are the top 13:

The Joop
Baby Diaper Covered in Barbeque Sauce
The Fifth Toe
The Exploding Pretzel Jar
The Twinkie
Jack Gets Pregnant
The Droids You're Looking For
The Hooded Leprechaun
The Zombie Bake Sale
The Zeigarnik (soviet psych theory)
Smokey's Dorm Room
The Spanish Inquisition
The Form in the Outlet

'Lost' recap 5.7

I gave up swearing for Lent.

This is a problem because I actually gasped near the end of this episode. I had to, not having a four-letter word at my disposal.

SPOILER ALERT: I advise you to stop whatever you're doing and watch this episode.

'Lost' masterminds 'completely liberated'

Lost producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof (shown left and right) are excited to be back on the air, almost as excited as they are to have an end date for their fab ABC thriller.

Here's a story from the Kansas City Star. (No spoilers, a couple of hints like that characters Daniel Faraday and Richard Alpert [Jeremy Davis and Nestor Carbonell pictured above] will figure heavily in the time-travel storyline.) TV reporters were invited for a peak at Season Five as well as a discussion with Cuse and Lindelof. There the duo talked about the freedom they gained as soon as they knew the series, which airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m., would end in with S6 in 2010.
