A massive factory that builds thousands of the country's school buses is cutting jobs and temporarily shutting down operations.
The moves at Thomas Built Buses' High Point plant are taking place because of a downturn in orders, some seasonal and some brought on by lagging tax revenues for states, the High Point Enterprise reported.
The union that represents hourly workers at the Thomas Built Buses plant in High Point announced today that about 220 employees will be laid off at the end of this month.
