What to Watch on Wednesday: NBC premieres 'Bent' sitcom

Criminal Minds (9pm, CBS) - The BAU searches for a kidnapper after an emaciated boy is found in an Arizona desert and another boy disappears.

Bent (9pm, NBC) - Here's what NBC does whenever they get a good new comedy: they barely promote it and then burn off the episodes really fast. I hope this isn't what they are doing with "Bent," but it sure feels like it. "Bent" is about a super chill contractor dude (David Walton) who tries to charm a newly divorced, high strung single mom (Amanda Peet) while he and his crew work on her home. Also stars JB Smoove, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jesse Plemons, who played Landry on "Friday Night Lights."  Episodes air at 9 and 9:30. Note: The other two funny NBC sitcoms that never got a decent chance -- "100 Questions" and "Perfect Couples" -- also starred David Walton.

Happy Endings (9:30pm, ABC) - As much as I'm getting behind "Bent," I do not condone skipping "Happy Endings" at 9:30!! Tonight, Dave becomes the target of a bully at his gym, so onetime bully Alex coaches him on how to work out his problems.

Duck Dynasty (10pm, A&E) - In the premiere episode of this new reality show about a Louisiana family who operate a thriving business manufacturing duck-hunting gear, Willie gets fed up with the lax work attitudes of other family members. The male members of the Robertson family look like they stepped straight out of a "Sons of Anarchy" casting call.

Survivor: One World (8pm, CBS) - No chance tonight's episode is as bat-poo crazy as last week, with Colton's stunning tribal council move. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - Cameron has a reunion with his estranged clown partner at a funeral for their former mentor, and Phil gets bullied by a real estate rival when he tries to land an important listing. All the ABC comedies are new tonight. "Happy Endings" is always especially joyous.

Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis (9pm, Bravo) - In this spin-off of "Flipping Out,"  Jeff Lewis revamps homes while also trying to transform the personal lives of the people who live in them. Also stars Jeff's assistant Jenni Poulos and his housekeeper Zoila Chavez.

Criminal Minds (9pm, CBS) - Married couples living in Seattle are murdered. Meanwhile, Garcia fears a proposal from Kevin is imminent.

He thinks they are jealous of his newfound fame, but it's really because his signature drink induces erotic dreams in which he's the star. Colin Hanks (left, with Knighton) appears as himself.

Revenge (10pm, ABC) - In the wake of the engagement party murder, Emily gets nervous while the Graysons band together. Also, Amanda's disappearance causes much speculation.

Face Off (10pm, Syfy) - The artists must modify an ordinary occupation into a character worthy of a Tim Burton movie, and three contestants face elimination. Guest judge is Catherine O'Hara. Meanwhile, "Beetlejuice" is airing at the same time on Encore.

Then Haley, Scotty, and Lauren each sing three songs: one chosen by the judges, one chosen by mentor Jimmy Iovine, and one of their own choosing. We know Scotty is singing Kenny Rogers' "She Believes in Me" as the judges' choice. Some fan sites are reporting that Scotty will also sing "You'll Think of Me" (Keith Urban) and "What Hurts the Most" (Rascal Flatts) -- but it's all rumors at this point, no one who really knows is saying...

What to Watch on Wednesday: 'Idol' youngsters make us feel old

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - In their  annual effort to make viewers feel really old, tonight 'American Idol' will have finalists perform songs from the year they were born. Garner's Scotty McCreery was born in 1993, so I came up with a few suggestions for him: "Rump Shaker" by Wreckx-N-Effect,  "Whoomp! (There It Is)" by Tag Team, or the club hit "What is Love" by Haddaway (that's right, 1993 was not a good year for popular music). Actually, my serious prediction for Scotty would be something like "Have I Told You Lately" by Rod Stewart  or "To Love Somebody" by Michael Bolton  (both remakes). Our 'Idol' blogger Thad Ogburn has his own (more realistic) predictions. Check out his "Scotty Watch" and submit your own suggestions for what all the 'Idol' hopefuls should sing tonight. Then tune in to see what happens.

Hot in Cleveland (10pm, TV Land) - Elka tries to persuade Max (Carl Reiner) to spend the winter in Cleveland instead of going to Florida. Meanwhile, Victoria falls for a man (Gregory Harrison) she meets during a TV interview.
