Keith Olbermann is out at MSNBC

Keith Olbermann is out at MSNBC. He made the announcement during his final "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," which aired tonight. Olbermann is the highest rated host at MSNBC but has had a contentious relationship with the network since his suspension over political campaign contributions last November.

MSNBC released this statement: “MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The last broadcast of ‘Countdown with Keith Olbermann’ will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Olbermann will be replaced by Lawrence O'Donnell.

Watch his terse farewell below.

Ben Affleck nails Keith Olbermann on SNL

We love it when TV shows mock each other. Ben Affleck did a surprisingly hilarious impression of outraged cat-lover Keith Olbermann on this weekend's SNL. I think I'll try to catch Countdown tonight to see if Keith has a sense of humor about it. If you missed it, be sure to check out Olberfleck's outrage against "the fear and the tyranny up with which we dare no longer Put!"

UPDATE - Apparently I won't have to tune into Countdown tonight. There's already evidence that Olbermann does NOT have a sense of humor.
