Tomorrow night (Sunday at 8), the Sundance Channel presents the second season of "Brick City," six one-hour episodes chronicling the challenges facing famed mayor, Cory Booker, his police director Garry McCarthy, and the citizens of Newark, New Jersey.

We loved the first part, but this time Happiness decided to get an expert opinion of the series. So we turned to Durham Mayor Bill Bell. Bell, we figured, could gage the authenticity of the show and testify to the difficulty of handling budget cuts, angry citizens and crime.

His overall opinion after screening two episodes?

Conan O'Brien has been in the middle of a small feud with Newark, N.J. mayor Cory Booker (left) ever since O'Brien started making the beleaguered city of Newark the regular butt of his jokes (O'Brien told his "Tonight Show" audience that Booker's health care plan for residents of Newark consisted of "a bus ticket out of Newark").

The two men have been having a bit of fun trading jabs from opposite coasts and banning each other from airports and their respective states. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton even stepped in last week to broker a truce.

On Friday night, Booker is finally coming face-to-face with O'Brien on "The Tonight Show" to defend his city's honor.

Tonight, the Sundance Channel begins a five-part documentary series at 10 p.m. called "Brick City," about a year in the life of Newark, New Jersey, that will run all week.

Shot during the second full year of Mayor Cory Booker's term in office, the series shows the energetic, young (40) mayor as he tries to pull the city out of its violent, poor and corrupt past with the help of community activists and, in particular, his police director Garry McCarthy. The city's homicidal history hit a horrible rock-bottom in 2007 with the execution-style murder of three promising college students on a school playground.
